Spike's Bitches 28: For the Safety of Puppies...and Christmas!

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

"I've got a gun! I've got a mother-flippin' gun!" - Moss, The IT Crowd

Aimée is shrewd. Or a good guesser.

Anyway, yes, I'm starting on a batch of Magic cards. I have only 9 working days left and I still can't motivate myself. I think I'm just running out of steam on the whole thing or maybe it's just that these current assignments aren't really my cup of tea.

I've spent the last couple of weeks tinkering with digital art. I wanted to try and completely digitally re-paint a sub-par piece I handed in before Christmas but unfortunately the technique I was trying ran into a dead-end and I had to abandon it for now. If it had worked, I'd probably be doing these images digitally as the new process would allow me at least a little fun while slogging through the images.

I'm still going to hand in a revised version of that pre-Christmas piece but it's more along the lines of using photoshop to improve portions of the composition and lighting, not quite the exciting repaint but still, looking promising.

But I have to get through these pieces first. I'm actually debating halving the amount of pieces I take from Magic so I have time to actually do my own stuff. A financial risk, but I'm starting to think I HAVE to do it.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

Will Jilli's new job status make that an easier thing to do, financially?

Disconnecticutie! How's things? I've been a-datin'.
I've been seeing moments of Wallydom as I've skimmed. lookin' good!

Things have been unbelievably stressful at work the past couple of weeks (grades due combined with massive network failure at school...never a good combination...and also having to start teaching a new class and close out the grades from the last semester class and deal with a student who unintentionally plagiarized and...well, you get the idea), and I still don't have my car back and I think I'm getting sick...

But it's going to be a good weekend, actually. And I'm remarkably chipper tonight.

Yup, it's actually the only way it could even be financially feasible. It's still a bit of a risk, though.

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

Note the use of "aren't really my cup of tea", people. He's British, he knows the risks; please don't try this at home.

Did that help? It felt helpful.

Yes, Kristin, I do catch the shenanigans in your work life. Good to see you're feeling upbeat though.

Look! Through the clouds! It's WallyWorld!!

Oof. How do you unintentionally plagiarise? Was there supposed to be an attribution that got neglected or something?

I could, but I'm distracted. I'm currently ploughing through some dodgy VBA code, that has a parameter for the Number of Observations. They've named it 'NObs'. My inner twleve-year-old is having trouble getting past it.

Say, Billytea, Bitches has gone all non-American all of a sudden! Shall we talk about cricket?
