So, how was your summer? Mine was fun. Saw some fish. Went mad with hunger. Hallucinated a whole bunch.

That man was going to shank me. Over an omelette. Two eggs and a slice of government cheese. Is that what my life is worth?

Thanks, y'all. We haven't been close in years, not since my aunt (his wife) died 15 years ago. But, he was one of my favorite uncles when I was a kid.

Repeat after me: Never volunteer information to people who have any authority over your life. Unless withholding it is worse.

I didn't know she didn't know, is the thing. And, now, after talking to Emily, we're pretty sure she had to know. Or, at least her husband knew. She just either forgot or is trying to pull a fast one on us. I'm letting it go.

What is even happening?

Oh, ChiKat, I'm sorry. I'm sorry about you finding out so late, too.

vw, I hope you beat back the migraine.

It wouldn't be heaven without him now, would it?

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

I am really annoyed about not getting something from AltonBrown.com as well as my cousin who is supposed to be gifting Tom and nothing has shown up yet. And our office is closed on Friday, and... ugh. I'm stressed that his gifts won't show up!

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

My mother always ASSUMES she's told me things.

And then tells me all the unimportant stuff twelve times to make up for it.

Laura, great picture! Amazing to see who looks like whom.

I see you're still maintaing the "Bobby" scam. Nice photo-shopping. (Note: fyi -- I have this theory that "Bobby" is Laura in a Beatle wig)

vw, if Boston is anything like NYC lease-wise if you've had a pet "openly and notoriously" for a certain amount of time they can't ask you to get rid of it. (isn't that just the best piece of legaleese ever?)

Wow. That's pretty damn cool. I'll hope that's the case.

Now that I've had a little more time, I'm not so worried. She's really more bark than bite.

Herding cats for fun

Hi gang! Good news! I have another awful employer story for your reading pleasure, and just in time to blame it all on 2005.

I was given a Christmas bonus. For professional clothes. Then they decided I'd shopped incorrectly at stores I had no permission to go to, so they asked for the $ back. So I wrote them a check and walked away.

I have here a letter from them saying that I should have the maturity to explain myself, and would I please come back in January under a different job title?

I laugh so I don't cry. As Fay said, I don't want to work for fuckwits of the highest order.

But right now I have a huge pot of Triple Garlic Chicken Soup bubbling on the stove and time to enjoy putting together my Bitch Blanket, so I think all that is quite nice.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

I'm sorry - wha???

They said - here's a bonus - buy professional clothes.

Then they decided they didn't like what you bought or the stores you bought them from so they asked for the money back?

How the fuck is that legal?

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

::blinks again::

No, I just can't parse their side of it, Katerina. That's just all sorts of not right.

They want you back for same pay?

Though...maybe explaining yourself could be fun. Want help from the Bitches?
