The worst thing is I lied to my parents about part of this situation. Mom asked me something and I lied and she asked me "are you telling the truth" and I said "yes". Point blank to her face. I did it because at the time it was easier to deal with than the truth. It kills me that I did that and I'm worried that I'm going to totally ruin my relationship with my parents, esp mom. That she'll feel she can't trust me.

I'm so sorry. This is so hard. Personally, I always need to come clean, because I can't live with the stress of not. If you approach her, and you tell her you lied (rather than her eventually finding out) because it felt easier than dealing with the truth, do you think she'll respect that you're coming clean now?

It seems like the best, albeit painful, course of action is to take this head-on. Look her in the eye again, tell her you lied and why you did it. She'll find her way to trusting you because you came clean.

I'm definitly coming clean with both my parents today. As soon as Mom gets home from work I'm going over there and starting with apologzing for lying and explaining why and then get into what happened today,.

I talked to my therapist a little bit ago and that was helpful. She said I needed to be direct with my parents and get that over with. She's going to be in her office until 6:30 so if I need to I can call her after I talk to Mom (I think I may have to). I'm not sure when I'll get to talk to Dad, I don't want to call him at work and tell him this.

This is good advice. Plus, dealing with it in parts -- (1) get stuff fixed, (2) explain the truth, (3) address the lying -- might just make it easier for you.

ION, my tongue has *finally* stopped hurting! I think I will have a salad tonight to celebrate.

Also, my hair has gotten entirely too long and unruly and shapeless. Fortunately, I'm getting it cut in an hour. Everything below the tops of my ears MUST GO. Back to this, I'm thinking.

It had the new postage rates on it and mom took it to the post office personally. Well, hell.

I will go in there and snarl when I get home and just hope that it either eentually makes it to you as addressed or me as return addressed.
