Right, there comes a point where you have to either move on, or just buy yourself a Klingon costume and go with it.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Hey brenda! Are you in the scotch yet?

Close. I went for the Crown Royal. Which is low enough to remind me that I haven't been to Canada in too long.

Which I'm thinking I might take a weekend up in Ottawa soon - and then I remember. I finally scheduled a goddamn root canal for this week. By the time it's done (root canal, post and core - whatever the hell that is, and crown) it's going to cost me over two grand. The fuck? God damn I would give anything for dental insurance right now.

Back tattoos of the mother is that you are absolutely right - Ame

Well, I got home from dinner out at 10:15 - 15 minutes after the girls' curfew...and beat them both home. Grumpy now. K-Bug had at least called to say she would be late. C, got a talking to both when I called to see where she was and when she showed up. At least CJ was asleep as he should have been.

Sigh.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

Temporary rant I will take down becaue I really DO like my mother rather a lot:

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

From my experience as a kid, not a Mom, the call is the hugest thing. I got in trouble for not getting home on time still, but I was religious about making the call - and feeding my mom a bunch of BS that she didn't believe for a second, but that relieved her of the "dead in a ditch" thing. My brother never got that, and never understood why she was so much madder at him.

In sadly related news, my dad called to say he was coming by this afternoon and would stay the night. Talked to him at 5 when he was halfway to Chicago. Mind, he was planning to go to some fly fishing thing, and maybe Ikea, so I wasn't expecting him at 5:30 or anything.

At eight, I go ahead and order myself dinner and figure I'll share if he gets here.

At 10, after I've left like three messages on his phone, and gotten my sister to call him when she called me about something else, he calls from Ikea.

Then at 11:30, he calls from outside my building, where he's looking for parking.

Still not here, in case you were wondering.

Holy shit. My aunt just called. They're upping my Grandmother's morphine. Looks like, well, looks like she could die within days of her sister. I'm feeling nauseous.

x-posted parental rants, fun. So been there, Trudes.

Also, H had a fabulous time with you last weekend! (And wanted to know if you'd posted anything on the board.)

Oh my lord, Trudy. I'm sorry. And I hope things are/were peaceful for them both.

I wanted to post while you were on and we seem to be missing each other a lot lately.

Your sister is darling DARLING. I'm so glad she didn't run off to sweden with that dope. EVIL BAD MAN.

We did upper west sidey things! Popover Cafe! Zabar's!

Mom is still onthe phone. Sounds like there is a nurse or something there. Holy shit.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

We do not call our mothers those names. Especially cause they might lurk and thus we lose plausible deniability. It's a rule for a reason.
