Philadelphia fans have booed: ... Santa
Have you looked at the guy's numbers? Has a big day once year or so, and then he slacks off the rest of the time, and yet we're supposed to treat Mr. Inconsistent like he's some kind of magic?
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Heh. These are good. Philly Sports Boo Hall of Fame.
*******
10. Mayor John Street
Current mayor of Philadelphia was booed at the opening of the Phillies new stadium.
9. Jimmie Johnson
The coach with the plastic hair was booed and pelted with snowballs by Eagles fans in the late 1980s, including a future governor of Pennsylvania.
8. Howard Cosell
The controversial "sports reporter" had a hate-hate relationship with Philadelphia. Cosell was responsible for publicizing the notorious Santa Claus incident in 1968. In subsequent years, Cosell allegedly left a TV broadcast at Franklin Field because he had too many martinis, and fans tossed an M-80 into Cosell's announce booth on national TV.
7. J.D. Drew
The former Phillies top draft pick refused to play in Philadelphia and forced a trade to the Cardinals. He received a tremendous booing in his first Philadelphia appearance. (See Scott Rolen.)
6. Scott Rolen
Drew's former Cardinals teammate had a public feud with Phillies management, refused a long-term contract and forced a trade to St. Louis. Rolen is still booed by Phillies fans.
5. Mike Schmidt
The Hall of Fame third baseman was even booed by local fans during the 1980 World Series. Schmidt had a strained relationship with fans and the media during his career.
4. Eric Lindros
The "savior" of the Flyers franchise eventually left the team after an ugly contract dispute and several injuries.
3. Donovan McNabb
Phillies fans at the 1999 draft booed McNabb as he was picked over Texas running back Ricky Williams by new head coach Andy Reid. This videotape is shown every year during NFL playoff coverage when McNabb is discussed.
2. Kobe Bryant
Kobe was born in Philadelphia, as was his father, local high school legend Joe Bryant. However, he is heavily booed by fans, famously so during the Lakers-Sixers finals and the All-Star game in Philadelphia.
1. Santa Claus
In 1968, the Eagles ask a young man to walk around as Santa Claus at snow-filled Franklin Field. The Eagles are playing in the last game of their worse season ever. The man may have been intoxicated or had antagonized the fans - there is conflicting information. The facts: Eagles fans pelted Santa Claus with snowballs as they booed. Howard Cosell later publicized the incident, in his unique style.
We're basically hermits. We don't go anywhere unless it's an occasion. We don't take advantage of the great things LA has to offer. Now, some of that is being the parents of a small child. But a lot of it not wanting to deal with the city.
Not to deny your frustrations with the city, Aimee, but I will add that parenthood has probably played a VERY big factor in your failure to get out more.

"One day you're the most popular man on earth, the next you're just another schlub in an unfashionable suit."

I second that emotion.
I can't believe I'm defending sports fannery!Right there with you, lisah... I think, given that I don't actually have a single horse in this race, that it doesn't matter at all to me personally and my friends don't need my defense, this would be a good time for me to back away from this topic.
(cracking up laughing at the Santa story)
Typo Boy/Gar is in Portland.
Nope. He moved up to Oly, remember?
So it'll be up to me to recruit?

To a certain degree, I certainly agree with you. Packing up all the crap a toddler needs to make any kind of outing comfortable and as stress-fress as possible, is, to say the least, a PITA. But we were quite hermity before Em came around. Her arrival has actually made us a little less hermity. But yeah.
