[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

how would a move affect MM's employment situation?

It's possible he can transfer. Might be a different job, but possible transfer. It's a key thing in our decision. With the wee-one, moving without the promise of employment is less exciting and more panicky.

If we were to buy a house out there, I'd probably follow the lead of most of my co-workers out there - buy in Jersey. Plus, Philly has no sales tax!

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

Phillies fans regularly booed Mike Schmidt.

Not all of us.

I wish I could just go somewhere to get flensed but none of the whaling ships near me take Medicare.

Yay, Matt’s mom!

You would be, after all, moving to a place with lots of winter and way too many Eagles and Phillies fans (the meanest fans in all of sports).

Really? Raiders fans seem pretty barbaric and mean to me.

And not LA suburbs. Suburbs, suburbs. It's where I was raised, it's what I know. I need people who smile back at me as they walk past.

South Pasadena, dude. Well, it’s true that a lot of LA suburbs are just cultural extensions of the city. But South Pas. Has something special. I’d still be there except it’s also in LA.

I don’t smile much at strangers on the street but it comes of having lived in a lot of poor and dangerous areas ever since. Smiling here can make you an easy mark. Or a crazy person will follow you around. This happened to me just last weekend.

But it sounds like you’re really excited about the move, Aimée. Much luck~ma to you!

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Good news, beth! Lots of no-relapse~ma!

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

Typo Boy/Gar is in Portland.
Oh cool. I haven't seen Gar around in ages.

Everyone talking about post-grad stuff, how we've live, where we've lived, then testing to see where the internet quiz wants us to live is making me sort of giddy again at the prospect of doing it myself so soon. Terrified too, of course.

Great news about Matt's mom! Thank you for letting us know, beth.

I suppose it could be partially because I am in San Diego, but the only football weekend that I loathe is the Raiders game.

The arrest numbers spike along with the violence. I am always so glad once the teams and fans go their seperate ways. It's more than a rivalry, it makes for some real unpleasantness.

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

Eagles and Phillies fans (the meanest fans in all of sports).

Except, of course, for Flyers fans.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Except, of course, for Flyers fans.

Well, there's that.

Philadelphia fans have booed: their own Hall of Famers, Santa, Father and Son games and old-timer games.

Punishingly Intricate

Me, too! Born in Wilmington, I mean, and lived there until we moved to NJ when I was about nine. And my parents are in West Chester, PA, now, just down the road from Wilmington.

Get out! Where did you live in Wilmington? We're probably related! (oh, and, AmyLiz, you're the one who is also related to Daniel Boone like I'm supposed to be, right? Maybe we're double-related!)

It was fun when the Mets would play the Phillies, because Mike Piazza's dad would always be in the stands, and he would always play extra hard.
