Ugh. We're just coming up on our review period, and a very senior person is making a huge fucking federal case out of a tiny, practically meaningless error I made. Fuckity.
Ick. That sucks with the timing, Brenda. Can you request a brief meeting with the very senior person and win them over to the dark your side?
More date~ma on the way to Beej.
Yesterday someone was going on and on and on about ECT being a torture device and people receiving it against their will. Blah, blah, blah. My prof tried to correct him, but the guy just wouldn't drop it.
Coming in a little late on this, but that guy is a Scientologist, or he has been (knowingly or unknowlingly) reading Scientolgy literature. It's one of the central theses to Scientology. He'll likely say he has a 1st Amendment right to blather on idiotically about ECT, when confronted.
vw, I'd probably at least give the prof a heads up--which may or may not avoid the need for a cluesticking. I have to admit, I'm personally hoping the guy gets cluesticked.
I'm so freakin' tired today. I've just sat around while Owen pulls out every toy he has and scatters them through the house. DH had to travel to Iowa today for work so he left the house at 5:30 a.m. and won't be home until 9 p.m. Feh. I should have had somebody come in to help me out today.
Plei, I got fitted for a Bravado nursing bra yesterday and can I just say they are the most comfortable things I've ever had on. I only bought one in the shop because I think they're cheaper online. I'm going to order some more of them today.

I love them. I need more.

Does this have to be the case? or maybe he's in posession of very old info?
They used to do ECT without consent back in the '50s, right? Then ECT fell from favor for a few decades, IIRC. (But I'm not really confident about my IIRC here....)
eta: But I do think you're probably right....
Owen's favorite tv show is Little Einsteins--whose nemesis is Big Jet (an evil jet that steals their stuff and menaces their cute little rocket ship). Since our house is close to the airport, we sometimes can hear loud planes flying overhead.
A few minutes ago, a plane passed over and Owen looked at me and said, clear as a bell, "Uh-oh. It's Big Jet."
Does this have to be the case?
Nope. It's not absolutely certain, but by far the most probable explanation.
Cut isn't till next Wednesday, so unfortunately, you'll have to wait.
Feh.
And I forgot to say: Congrats, Nicole on the no-cigarette having. I'm sure it must feel foul now, but here's hoping the rewards are worth it.
Yes, there was a lot of things like that done without informed consent... irresponsibly and things like that.
I think it could be valuable to talk about there being multiple points of view on it.
But some people's brains seem to want to think there is Right or Wrong...that's it.(That is not my problem, but my decisions tend to take a long time.)
