The status is NOT quo.

I'll third that sentiment.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

The real problem is that the post-partum figure is totally different from the pre-partum one. (And my figure now is different than it was after Frances, too.) I'd say 2/3 to 3/4 of my old clothes don't fit right, but I'm still wearing them

Yep. And yup to the can't afford to replace 'em--and my bod won't be done changing until I'm no longer nursing, so I can't justify buying things that I'd only wear for a short time unless they have access slits.

Just to clarify--I'm thirding the sentiment of not being able to wear most of my professional clothes and yet also not being able to afford to replace them. I obviously do not have a partam--pre or post--to blame. I just moved to California, starting eating Mexican food and being really stressed, and gained a crapload of weight.

This is an issue for me, too. Oh, not the California bit - but I do NOT want to think about the results of me standing on the scale in the doctor's office yesterday.

Punishingly Intricate

one of the best gifts I ever received was when the people in my church signed up and brought dinner every night for a week.

Thanks, Deena! That's a great idea.

Sounds like I might also should sign my friend up for some kind of post-partum makeover!

Timelies.

The migraine I went to bed with is still here. So much for going to work today.

vw, you have my sympathies. Hope the nasty migraine leaves you alone soon.

Thanks!

I'm trying not to give myself a hard time. I made it to work three days this week. That's better than I've done in a long time. It's still frustrating, though. I wanted to make it all week.

Trust my rage

Timelies!

vw, I hope the migraine leaves quickly.

I have to add my two cents on the whole post-partum figure issue. In my case, I'm still 10 pounds heavier than when Ellie was conceived and 17 pounds heavier than I want to be. I know some of that is in my breasts and won't go away until I'm done breastfeeding (I hope!). Still, I look longingly at my old button down shirts that now gape in the middle if I put them on.
