Aimee, I think you ought to grab your boss by the hand, and walk him or her down to payroll or Human Resources, or chief-secretary-in-charge and refuse to leave or let your boss go, until they (a) cut a check for the money they owe you; (b) prove to you that your checks will no longer be subject to these ridiculous errors; and (c) give you some comp time for your trouble.

Spike's Bitches 28: For the Safety of Puppies...and Christmas!
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
Aimee, as an HR person, I will second Cindy's suggestion. Payroll doesn't like to cut manual checks, but that doesn't mean that payroll can't cut manual checks.
erika are you familiar with this blog: Ragged Edge Magazine?
Sample paragraph:
It's Tiny Tim time again, and it's not as if I'm running around expecting to like the stereotypes of disability that I see on TV or the stereotypes of disability I run into every day. Maybe that's why, despite the fact that public images of autism are never really anything but infuriating, I turned off the TV last Thursday more pissed off than I had been when I turned it on. That and the fact that I'd been rooting for Randal for awhile, and suddenly I found myself hoping he'd fail miserably.
HR has already cut me 2 manual checks.
The initial Direct Deposit that didn't go through on 12/15? I got the check YESTERDAY.
I got another manual check 2 weeks ago when they screwed up.
I will have another one before I leave today.
HR has already cut me 2 manual checks.
WTF is their problem? Shit.
What it is is I had my paycheck split between 3 accounts. 1 checking, 2 savings. One of the savings accounts was closed. I asked them to just put the same large amount into checking and then the remainder into the one savings.
For whatever reason, ADP keeps sending the money to the closed savings account.
oh, yeah. ADP SUX.
Seriously, I'd have to yell at them for shit practically every week.
12/15, the amount was negligable. My money, but I didn't need it.
Well, since then, I've gottena raise and stopped paying for health insurance. It's not a small amount anymore. I want my money. I need it to MOVE.
But can you imagine the sheer snarkalicious beauty of a House/Giles argument?
I think I just came.
With all this talk, I thought today was MY payday, but alas - another week to go.
Y'all have SEEN the Giles and Wooster episode of Spooks, right?
Not that the characters they are playing are especially Gilesy or Housey (or Woostery, for that matter, though Jools is most certainly on my short list for Best Hugh Laurie Character Ever), but hey.
