Honey, are you kidding? Pshaw. I'd book us a jet and an island so we could get away from winter and hang out on a beach.
This is a much better idea. Where is my brain?

vw, I had a post all ready to go (saying medium head, btw) when Joe walked in. He had a swollen lip and banged up knee. They did "stick fighting" at PT (that would be physical training) this morning and Joe smacked into his buddy's elbow, leading him to take a bite out of his own lip. He also hurt the knee that he had surgery on 2 years ago. I took care of him for a little bit and now he's back on his way to the medical clinic to get looked at. I'm praying he doesn't need surgery again.
{{{Joe}}} No surgery~ma to him.
askye, I don't know anything about the meds you're already taking or how they'd react with OTC sleeping meds but I hope things improve quickly for you. Not being able to sleep is right up there with bouncing checks in the ICK department.

And here I was under the impression that PT was supposed to HELP one heal, not cause new injuries or re-injure. Much heal~ma and no surgery ~ma to Joe, Stephanie.
I'm trying to find my elusive motivation. No, really. It's most likely not on the internets but this seemed like the best place to check.
You know, I think a few months ago I posted something here about how no one wears slips anymore....
"We're beginning to see a new generation discover the slip," said Marshal Cohen, the chief retail analyst for the NPD Group, a market research firm. "For now slips are an undercultural movement by women shopping in more affluent stores." Most, he added, are under 40, women who as recently as a year ago would no more have thought of buying a slip than of wearing a hoop skirt. Because the trend is only now emerging, sales figures are not available, but Mr. Cohen predicted a measurable spike in slip sales by spring.
Huh. Maybe I should start a SlipNews blog....
I take Lamictal and Seroquel at night. Would it be bad if I took an over the counter sleep medicine.
I'd talk to your doctor first. Since Seroquel is somewhat sedating, adding another drug into the mix that also slows down your CNS might be too much. Then again, it might be fine -- but I'd check with a medical professional on that.
Ouch! Poor Joe.
Askye, you've been doing really well, so please remind yourself that this is, in the grand scheme of things, a small (if exceedingly annoying for you) slip. And, what Teppy said.
It's so annoying, this lack of coverage/high cost for medicines.
VW, excellent letter.

I'd consider a hoop skirt before a slip, unless I was wearing the slip as a dress instead of an undergarment. As I know more than one woman under 40 who'd say the same, I had to blink and reset my brain to the not-goth, not-SCA, not-RenFaire set.
If this means half the skirts I find in the stores are going to need a slip, I'ma be seriously pissed.
I wear petticoats and half-slips whenever I'm wearing a skirt that would otherwise stick to my legs. Full slips, not so much.
In my youth there was the bra-slip, which made more sense.
