You know, with the exception of one deadly and unpredictable midget, this girl is the smallest cargo I've ever had to transport. Yet by far the most troublesome. Does that seem right to you?

Now tagless for your comfort.

There are two issues with this. I had given them the information about his insurance ahead of time and explained the guardianship situation. I thought they had checked to make sure the work would be covered.

If you gave them this, didn't they certify it ahead of time?? My dentist does this with major work. If they told you it was covered, why the switch?

Good questions Cash - I will be calling them today. I'm still in shock and I really don't have that money.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

{{{vw}}} I'm sorry. I hope this can be fixed easily. Don't beat yourself up too much.

{{{MG}}} The dentist needs to find a way to fix this. They should have checked the insurance first.

Second, I know that her dad should be the one to pay the bill, but I also know he doesn't have the money.

Any chance the state could cover it? Mom can get a certain amount money per year for particular needs of foster sis. It's like a grant.

{{{vw}}} We all have days (weeks!) when we avoid the mail. It's sometimes unpleasant being a grownup. I'm very sorry you have to deal with all these insurance troubles -- it seems cruel that we (society) put the people who need help and care through this.

{{{MG}}} I hope calling the office reveals that the doctor is a mensch.

As for me, I have conference calls or meetings today at 9, 11, noon, 2, 2:45 and 4 p.m. Ick.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

Hugs for MG, vw, Kristin, Nora, Cass, Deena, and anyone else who wants.

Thanks for reassurance and ideas about Harvey's hair loss. I have seen other signs of allergies, and I will observe more closely to see if he is doing anythin different, by way of sleeping funny. I know he has been sleeping on top or in front of furnace vents, but do not recall any unusual positions.

Trudy - I'm not "official" yet, so I can't get anything from the state. I should be granted "temporary legal guardianship" soon, which will give me those rights.

I forgot to bring the notice from the dentist to work with me, but I'm going to call them in an hour anyway and say WTF. They saw her twice, if I remember correctly. Once for an eval and once for fillings. The appointments were separate enough, if the first wasn't covered I should have been notified before the second.

Ugh.

It might (this likely varies by state, naturally) be worth looking into what WILL be available once you are and the possibilities of them taking care of it retroactively -- Mom had FS for a while "unofficially" for a while and I think they were able to tweak some things (what with being in the instability business and all).
