Spike's Bitches 28: For the Safety of Puppies...and Christmas!
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
Thanks, dcp. What a neat little site. I'm so behind in my web-consumption these days.
eta - and thank YOU, beth.
how many people can say that they can see both the Golden Gate Bridge and Alcatraz from their office window?
I can't, but I can say that my job interview whence I got my current job took place in an office with this view. I knew it was meant to be when I walked in. (Now if only they'd ever let me transfer back to California!) Job is no wise as cool as the Internet Archive, though.
The DH has been in a homesick way since we watched The Fog last weekend, talking about Point Reyes and the whole area. We'd love to move back, but I think Pacific Northwest is more likely...after finishing life in DC, of course. We are on evacuation standby (birdy flu), so may be returning to the States sooner than I thought.
Gronk. I was up most of the night crying. T (my best friend since 1st grade), her parents, her sister, her b-i-l, and the two nephews (my nephews that I am always bragging about), are moving to Texas sometime in the next six months.
Poor sj! I'm so sorry.
Thanks, vw. I think I am going to try to set up a livejournal for her and am IM account. If she is going to be that far away, I'm going to have to turn her into an internet friend.
Sounds like a good plan.
Why are they all moving?
T's b-i-l has family there. They went on vacation and fell in love with it and the much cheaper housing prices. T and her parents are essentially going because they can't stand the thought of not seeing the kids grow up.

Wow. I know I'm heartbroken about not being near my sister's kids but I don't think I could give up my life and move across the country 'cause of it.
Anyway. I'm off to Puerto Rico! Hope this event goes OK. It's very different than most of the events I've done where I am now, and don't know if my experience doing hotel events in a past life will apply well in this situation or not. Ah well. It's a resort in Puerto Rico. Even if things turn to shit, I'll have an rum drink with an umbrella in hand!
I am hoping that Tom won't be too lonely while I'm gone.
I may be back, but since I don't know the deal with internet access, I might not be.

Well, T is getting sick of life in RI, and is happy for a change, and her parents are retiring and want a warmer climate.
Have fun, Nora!!!
