Spike's Bitches 28: For the Safety of Puppies...and Christmas!

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

All is well that ends in pizza.

For the last hour I was outside working on my car's exhaust system in 20 F, with a 18 MPH wind blowing directly on me.

By the end of the hour, my fingers were verra cold inside the gloves, and my nose verra stiff.

Harvey the cat didn't much like it when I came in and tried to warm my hands on him.

What is even happening?

My house is tiny, but I've got a guest bed and two sleepable couches.

Oh, you're too sweet Ginger, and possibly crazy with the Southern hospitality. There are five of us. We're very loud and messy. We should do something that wouldn't make you rue the day you found b.org.

I was in Tampa! This morning! But now I'm in Orlando. Not terribly helpful for Cindy's vacation planning, I suppose. Though she could stop in DC on her way down the coast too. Y'know, drive the hubs and kids crazy by stopping every four hours the whole way down 95 to see Buffistas (NY, DC, NC, GA...)

Two or three months too early, too. We're still in the maybe stages. Scott has to see which training session his boss wants him to attend, and then we have to figure out if we can swing it. I'm definitely taking the kids to DC some day though. I've never been.

I'm also pulling for London. When Scott went to London on business, Chris was something like 3 weeks old (which means Julia was one and a half and Ben was 4). We didn't accompany him. There's a faint possibility he'll have to go in the nearish future. I'm pushing for an extended assignment, where we all go. I'm a dreamer.

Nana korobi, ya oki. (Fall down seven times, stand up eight.) ~Yuzuru Hanyu/Japanese proverb

connie, pick up a copy of Scrye magazine at a game store. It has a complete listing of Magic cards by edition. The alphas and betas are most valuable, of course. Anything after that except for the 9 power cards drops down considerably in price. Also, I checked to see if Pete had any cards that were alphas or betas. No luck, or I would have held on to them long enough to pull his out for autographs. Hee.

Also, if you do decide to sell, check out the completed auctions on e-bay for the cards you want to sell. It gives you a much better idea of the going price, I found Scrye to be listing them at about double their going rate. So, don't get too excited when you see a card listed at $2200, you're more likely to get $700-1200 for it. Black Lotus, baybee, keeping my fingers crossed.

I'm surprised no one seems to be talking about Jon Stewart being tapped to host the Oscars.

Now tagless for your comfort.

DH got another job offer from London yesterday. He's keeping after me. I told him to give me until after I have the next baby before I contemplate a move overseas.

I'm surprised no one seems to be talking about Jon Stewart being tapped to host the Oscars.

There was a bit of talk in Natter. I'm pleased he's got such a high profile gig, but I'm also wary. It can be really embarrassing if it doesn't work out. Personally, I still want Kesley Grammer because he SINGS.

It's nice to see some brave pretenders trying to make it interesting.

Ugh. I think I have finally contracted the plague. I tried to be healthy and do a juice fast to clean out my system, but now I am worried I'm on track for a sinus infection. Makes me want to cry. I now have emotional and physical pain at the same time. Whee!

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Cross posted a few places:

I had to leave my computer in the shop for repairs, so I won't have any internet access at home for about a week. If you need to get in touch with me this weekend, try my cell phone.

Have fun!

Art Crawl!!!

I could swear that there was talk of Jon Stewart and the Oscars somewhere. . . possibly in Natter. . . possibly in Movies. . .

Natter, I think. I remember it.

Is this quite my most pointless post ever?
