'Why We Fight'

Spike's Bitches 28: For the Safety of Puppies...and Christmas!

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

All is well that ends in pizza.

Bidding is up to $14,000 on a $20 bill that somehow got a "Del Monte" banana sticker on it before it was printed. [link]

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

Vote no, Sparky. Probably enough people will vote yes to stop the email that you'll get the best of a bad situation--moral high ground, and no more annoying emails.

Jilli, my son wants to see some of Pete's cards. Is there a Pete-devoted website anywhere? I couldn't find it on Google.

Search for Pete Lastname on eBay. Pete has been too busy to get the information together for a site, else there would have been one up in October or so.

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

Every other Friday they have "Payday Socials" which basically means beer in the conference room at 4:30. Well, as mentioned, I leave at 2:30 so I miss these gatherings.

Today, they switched it up to "Payday Breakfast" in the conference room right next to me. There are bagels, a variety of spreads, cereal, bananas, cut fruit, juice, various flavors of coffee, orange juice - and other stuff. Nice way to kill some time and fill up the tummy.....

you should protest. If they have beer at Socials, they should have mimosas at breakfast.

What is even happening?

Nora and Teppy, I'm sorry you're both having so much family craxy.

SE Florida. Alas, quite a long way from Tampa, about 4 hours. Good for me because I wouldn't want to live in Tampa, but sad making that I won't be able to hook up with your DH.
Ah, poop. Not just the dh, all of us. We're thinking of going with him and making a family vacation out of it. We're going to see if his employer will give him a fuel allowance in lieu of plane fare. Is askye anywhere near there? Are there any other Floridaistas near there?

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

Everything that's going on with my granddad is stirring up deep, deep-rooted dysfunction in the larger extended family and everything is just sort of going to hell while I watch.

Yep.

I just... forget sometimes. She does such a good time covering it up, and putting focus on others (my dad and my grandmother) that I let myself be fooled, and I think everything's great and relatively normal, and just... no. No, not at all.

I could not even IMAGINE how awful it would be if my mother's parents were still alive. OMG.

Basically, I made the mistake of telling her I was worried about her and urging her to accept help if it was offered, and asking for help if she needed it. Oh, I won't do that again.

All is well that ends in pizza.

Gronk.

I just got my final paycheck. They took out Medical, Dental, Life insurance and Flex Spending at this year's rate.

Except that as an ex-employee, I'm no longer eligible for that.

I gritted my teeth and girded my loins, relaxed and called the HR person who fired me.

I was all polite and cordial. I figure that when people check on my past employers, I should not give them a reason to say things about me to potential employers.

We're going to see if his employer will give him a fuel allowance in lieu of plane fare.

Odds are you'll be driving through Atlanta.

Excellent point, Ginger. Scott has a brother in GA, as well.

My house is tiny, but I've got a guest bed and two sleepable couches.
