Angel: I appreciate you guys looking out for Connor all summer. It's just—he's confused. He needs time. That's all. Fred: Right. Time, and some corporal punishment with a large heavy mallet. Not that I'm bitter.

Spike's Bitches 28: For the Safety of Puppies...and Christmas!

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Hey. New board.

Skipping a lot to say: I am in Guatemala. So far, it rocks. More later.

That's the plan. As much as I want to see you guys, it sucks having to turn on the alarm clock to enjoy a day off work. Ah, well, it will be worth it in the long run.

How close is Lush to your place, Brenda? Is it drivable or easier to take the train? I need to know what kind of shoes to wear tomorrow.

How are you me? You need to stop that. Only I can be me. ~Kara

Nick is TWENTY now?!?!?!?!

Yeah, scary isn't it? I don't know where the time went. He'd just turned 17 when I joined the board.

SA is in Guatemala. You should look her up! (hah. I crack myself up.)

cereal:

Are we sure Lush will be open tomorrow, with it being the legal holiday?

We actually noticed this coincidence already. But we're in completely different areas of the country, unfortunately.

Either works. If we want to go downtown afterwards, though, the train will be easier.

ETA: Ooh, the website tells me there's a new location, inside Fields on Michigan Avenue.

Double ooh, I have a Fields gift card.

I think most stores will be open tomorrow. I certainly hope so. Their website doesn't say anything about hours, dang it.

I wonder if the one inside MF will have the full line. There's only one thing I really need and that's Dream Cream, I'm nearly out. Anything else is gravy.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

How long are you gonna be in town, Sail? I'm thinking I should try to work a half a day or something, so maybe I can join you guys for lunch or dinner.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

It was a lovely brunch at Perkins house today. In attendance: Perkins, Maidengurl, Beth and Matt, Deb and Nic, Me and JZ, Consuela, Katerina Bee, Hilary, and some new girl from Minnesota.

We helped drive Juliana's gear to her new place, and scored a luckier than lottery win parking place right on her block. Woot!

Juliana's sweet little new apartment is smack dab in the middle of North Beach. This is roughly akin to being smack dab in the middle of the French Quarter or Greenwich Village. Within a five minute walk of her place she has two world class bookstores, two record stores (one directly below her), multiple dive bars and far too many restaurants to count. (But literally in the the dozens.) The air is redolent of garlic from all the restaurants - but in the good way.

We stayed with Juliana for a bit while Deb and Nic went to get her some pots and pans, and Juliana let it be known that "Divorce sucks" and we concurred and petted her and rubbed her shoulders and her cat came out from his hiding place behind the toilet to make sure she was okay.

We left her to have a little alone time before Deb and Nic got back, and then JZ and I went out to celebrate our parking spot by getting a drink at Vesuvios.
