So, did ANYONE get a white Christmas this year?
Notsomuch. There is still a little snow on the ground, but it's the pathetic brown crunchy snow you get at the end of the season. Rain and freezing have been the norm here.
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Yep. Well, brunch really. Hannukah doesn't officially start until sundown tonight, but my parents are in Boston for Christmas (with Dad's Catholic/UU relatives) this year, so they stopped in Brooklyn on their way up and brought leftover latkes from their party last weekend. You should have come with them
I'm doing the Hanukkah wishing early, because I doubt I'll be around by sunset. I'm propping myself up, now.
Today, DH and I are going to see The Producers and The Family Stone ('cause they're playing in the same theatre), and then Chinese food for dinner. A very traditional Jewish Christmas.Oh, excellent! Have a great time. I miss Chinese Food. I have to find a nearby place that doesn't use MSG. I can't tolerate it, anymore.
Oh, I just want to nap, but I have to get dinner ready. I am so glad I baked the lasagna, yesterday. The ham is easy-peasy though, and I've already prepped the potatoes, and mum's doing the turkey breast.
We ended up skipping church, today. We're just too knackered. I haven't seen Ben since Scott hooked up the PS2 in the basement. Chris is walking around the house singing, "Little Saint Nick" ala the Beach Boys. Julia's been breaking all our fingers, or rather, her toys have been. A lot of the toys are now wired into the packaging, such that each toy takes an average of ~15 minutes (if you're lucky) to get it out. Mattel's Barbie stuff has got to be the worse. I'm ready to write Mattel and tell them I'll gladly pay an extra $5 per toy, to cover their losses, if they'll stop securing each toy like it's a national treasure.
They were singing manamana all throughout diinner, and made me promise that we could watch more of them tomorrow.
Awww! Do you know yet if the Vincent Price ep is on the dvds? I loved that one.
I'm not sure. It's not on the first disk, and my niece absconded with the info booklet. We rewatched manama this morning.
According to Amazon, Vincent Price is in Season One. You are an excellent auntie, Perkins.

YES. Apparently you can blame Toys R Us, who pioneered toys in great big stacks on shelves, so the toys have to be displayed to best advantage, hence wire. Wire wire wire.
Happy Christmas, all. I am baking Krusteaz blueberry muffins.
Karl!
belated tacklehug
Long time no see, love! (You say the nicest things.)
What a nice Christmas day. Well, I mean, it was the least Christmassy Christmas Day I've ever experienced, but nice food was had, and my parents liked their presents, and my Nana liked her present, and my wee sister spoke to us over the interpipe using the miracle of Skype, and I got some nice things. In particular, weesisterJay sent me a Nightmare Before Christmas bag from Taipei, and some Hello Kitty candy. Because she rocks. Bless her.
The Vincent Price ep is in season one, but it's missing a song. There are a handful of things missing from the first season since apparently it was expensive to get the rights.
Yep, here's what's missing from Season 1:
* "Stormy Weather" (Joel Grey Episode)
Sung by Wayne and Wanda
* "Gone With The Wind" (Jim Nabors Episode)
Sung by Jim Nabors
* "The Danceros" (Jim Nabors Episode)
Sung by The Danceros; also cut backstage and intro
* "All Of Me" (Paul Williams Episode)
Sung by Two Monsters; also cut intro
* "Old Fashioned Way" (Charles Aznavour)
Sung by Charles Aznavour with Mildred; also cut intro
* "You’ve Got A Friend" (Vincent Price Episode)
Sung by Vincent Price, Uncle Deadly and a chorus of Muppet Monsters
Disney also put the original promotion on that was used to sell the show to the networks. At the end there was a moment where Kermit said "What the hell was that". Disney cut that comment since they wanted the discs to be more family friendly.
The Muppets! Ahhh...total love. The DVD's sound like a must have, even with the missing content.
I got Wicked - the book!!!!! And Serenity. I'm quite the happy camper. The rest of the family is in post-unwrapping-rapture. DH is the only one who seems less than thrilled with his haul, though I'd gladly take his loot.
Fay is such a babe.
