Spike's Bitches 28: For the Safety of Puppies...and Christmas!

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

Frank, it is exceedingly crappy that your car got stolen. You have my sympathies. Also, I would like to include the thief in my list of people I would like to duck tape together.

Coding and Sleeping

On the upside, out of that sadness came one wonderful thing--I ended up falling in love with some craxy Buffista in a kilt.

Cool! I'm glad that a silver lining has appeared.

I look more rad than Lutheranism

Kind of down and dirty, but some of Emmett's recent artwork. Jilli will like some of these.

Mr. Afro

I t heart Mr. Afro. Bunches and bunches.

Unrelated to Emmett's art, I grew up in a household in which Brazil nuts were, in fact, referred to as "nigger toes." If I'm remembering correctly, I didn't know what their correct name was until I was 7 or 8. I didn't like to eat them, so I never really used the term in conversation, but....yeah. I cringe to remember that.

Always Anti-fascist!

The first time somebody I knew told me they would fix something by "nigger-rigging" it I thought I would die. I was eighteen and everything...

Oh, gods. I forgot about that term.

Yeah, that was a phrase used in my childhood, too. Ugh.

I wish I could just go somewhere to get flensed but none of the whaling ships near me take Medicare.

I'm glad I grew up completely ignorant of those terms. I've never heard them before.

Always Anti-fascist!

I was such a chicken, too. I didn't say anything.

Our wings are not tired.

When I was a child I heard the term used for Brazil nuts, and in eany meany miney mo. I really don't think the adults thought of it as a bad word. In the 60s the adults in my world got all enlightened and stopped saying it. A few years later as an adult in the early 70s a guy I worked with said it in a derogatory manner and I was young and brave enough to inform him that he was not allowed to speak like that around me.

My fingers and feet are tired. I wrapped stuff all day long. So much for thinking that getting people several little things instead of one big thing was a good plan. Also, I have too many family members. Mom thinks that we should just contribute to a worthy cause next year instead of doing presents for the adults and get them something on their birthday instead. Good plan Mom. We hope to sell it to the rest of the crew.

eta: stuff doesn't look like it's spelled right and I am too tired to check. Bed time for me now.

My friend Tal just spent over 4 hours sitting and chatting with me while I wrapped Christmas presents. I don't think I could have gotten it all done without her, but they're all done. Tomorrow, I'm going to make a few bows and finally bake those brownies. So tired now.

I know my own heart and understand my fellow man. But I am made unlike anyone I have ever met. I dare to say I am like no one in the whole world. - Anne Lister

Um, hi guys! Happy holidays and everything. Hope all are well.
