Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

And now they can both go be gay?

Seriously, the news makes me oddly sad. They always seemed so sweet.

Gahh! I'm trying to figure out the details of wireless pay-as-you-go plans, and they're stupid. According to Cingular, I have to give them, say, $15 for the base rate. But, if I only use $5 of phone time and don't give them any more money that month, then they can take the other $10 and keep it! Doesn't make any damn sense.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

So it's only really pay as you go above $15/month, I guess? Or just prepaid, not pay-as-you-go at all.

I have Virgin, btw, and am happy to answer any questions. I've had it about a year now and I'm pretty satisfied.

Do you have to go to a store to get the Virgin, and will they take a phone from Cingular and just transfer the number over? I'm just looking to stop paying $40 a month for something I'm only using maybe for 10 minutes each month.

Nope, I got mine online.

and will they take a phone from Cingular and just transfer the number over?

Hmmm, doubtful. I know most phone companies don't like to let you use another company's phone. But the number should be no problem.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

Typically, on a salary history, how many positions do you list? All that are on your resume?

Brenda, what website did you use? I tried to google it, and only got Amazon and a lot of review pages.

Aimee, last time I did my resume (admittedly, about five years ago), I went back about four jobs. When you fill out the application before the interview, they'll have room on the app for the rest of the jobs that you want to mention.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Kathy, I was able to transfer my Sprint phone number over to my Virgin account without any problems -- and on the same day, much to my surprise. But Virgin uses the Sprint cell system, so they may have some backdoor agreements.

It sounds like you would want the lowest level (Minute to Minute, IIRC) of service, which would seemingly cost more per minute, but when you figure that you're only going to be using it 10 minutes at most a month, will save you big bucks.

Best of all, the Virgin plan isn't a contract -- you could leave it any time, or switch up to their Day to Day or Month to Month plan if you're going to be travelling or something where you would need to use the phone more often for some reason. I've been on the Virgin plan since September and am quite satisfied so far. (Plus I got a cute new phone.)
