Zoe: Preacher, don't the Bible have some pretty specific things to say about killing? Book: Quite specific. It is, however, somewhat fuzzier on the subject of kneecaps.

Wait, is this real-world child support, where the money goes to buy food for the kids, or MRA fantasyland child support where the women just buy Ferraris and cocaine? -Jessica

I mean, you should try and finish as much as you can, but finishing a whole book in two days is not going to allow you to polish your prose much. It's better to turn in Most Of A Book that's well written.

She has eight of the essays, she wants the other four. And to talk to me.

I can't take any more time off from work. I'm here in between panicking about other deadlines and waiting for the info I need to make them.

So, yeah, I have til Wednesday to write the other four essays.

I'm fucking doomed. And scared. And hopeful. And someone just invited me to talk at WonderCon about Vampire People, but i don't really get what they want. I'm overwhelmed. I'm so overwhelmed.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Then you have to get off the web, Allyson. And don't think about Wondercon until Thursday.

At which point you can tell me if you'll be needing a security escort.

Entertaible. Want. So badly.

Chunk it down. Put the WonderCon thing aside 'til the essays are done. Work on the essays at work (or think about them, or jot down notes about them) instead of posting to us.

Do you know the topics for the other four?

You're not doomed. You might be scared, but use that as nervous energy, and keep feeling hopeful.

Now go write. If you can post at work, you can do something on your essays while you're at work.

"You can't put a price on the joy of not giving a shit." -Zenkitty

Took me eighteen minutes to find this.

Or you could have asked me, and I would have provided. Unless you were having fun, and then carry on.

I was sure I had it somewhere, or knew where it was. And then became frustrated that this wasn't so. At least I know where it is for next time. It's about the only COMM I ever want to pull out when the context presents itself.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Gud's link makes me want to barf.

Yeah, I've seen this one before. It's cool.

What's kinda freaky is that it does not work at all on my bad eye, despite the fact that vision in that eye has improved enough where I can actually see the image.

Now tagless for your comfort.

The google link at the top of my gmail says, "Free Baby Samples". Huh. I think I'm a little past the sampling stage.

What is even happening?

Moppety responded to one of my comments in her lj, today. When I got the email notification in gmail, all the gmail ads included on the side were lice-remedy links. As near as I can tell, this is because moppety mentioned something about having something "in her head." I nearly choked.

You've made my head itch from a thousand miles away.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Last year or so, somebody here shared a link to an article (was is Slate or Salon?) about a woman who worked long overtime hours as a high paid hair colorist (a salon speciality) in order to afford ultra-expensive couture clothes. Does anyone remember this and can link me up again?
