My boss kvetched at me for not doing other people's jobs, and so I've started doing them.
It is irritating to have to pick up the slack for people who aren't even in my department, but damn, it feels good to be able to close out a project (and cc their management to boot).

See, that's only an issue if you're being annoying. In this case, it's the content that's annoying.
Ha! The guy whose task I completed piped up to object. Know what'd have stopped me from doing it? If at any time in the past four weeks he'd responded to my requests for status. Since completing it too early doesn't break anything, I can't be arsed to care. He'll just have to do it over again.
My immediate workplace is pretty liberal. We're part of a larger corporation, though. We've never had any sites blocked before, but it looks like they've singled out [link] for blockage. Hmmm.
