Actually, when I took some powerful antibiotics recently, I was surprised to see that the instructions for taking them included suspending my multivitamin and mineral supplements for the ten days. Evidently that interferes with the body's absorption and processing of the drug.

These are cool:
Hey! I met her! Her baby brother stomped my heart into little bits and pieces! Though this should have no bearing on any Buffista's interest in her work, as she herself did no stomping (and, really, I spent an awful lot of time and energy stuffing my heart under his feet again and again, and my heart could have easily escaped with only minor bruising if I hadn't been so stupid).
Crap, I seem to be running out of outrage again....
I think this is an administration strategy, especially after the warrantless wiretaps and the statment that we can still torture people while signing the anti-torture legislation. It makes you kinda forget about all the lies about Iraq.

It's squideriffic!
A squid that cares for its young:
But a team of ocean scientists exploring the inky depths of the Monterey Canyon off California has discovered that at least one squid species cares for its young with loving attention, the mother cradling the eggs in her arms for months, waving her tentacles to bathe the eggs in fresh seawater. The scientists suspect that other species are doting parents, too, and that misperceptions about squid behavior have arisen because the deep is so poorly explored.
"Our finding is unexpected because this behavior differs from the reproductive habits of all other known squid species," the scientists wrote in the Dec. 15 issue of Nature. "We expect it to be found in other squids."

IT'S a funny farm where a naughty kitten has the upper hand over a horse with hoofs that could crush a curious cat's tail.
Garfield the 12-week-old cat has bonded with placid three-year-old Gemma, who lets her mate bat her around the ears.
Fearless Garfield isn't bothered by Gemma's heavy hoofs.
Owner Andrew Taylor, who lives on the property at Kialla near Shepparton with partner Rachel Martini, said the unlikely pair's friendship was based on comfort and security.
They snuggle in Gemma's stable after a day of playing.
"Gemma has taken the little kitten under her wing like a mother," Mr Taylor said.
"Garfield was only a kitten when I accidentally trod on her tail one day and she ran into Gemma's stable and we found her lying with Gemma."
Even the pigs and ducks can't escape Garfield's mischief.
"She jumps all over the pigs' backs, the ducks chase her, and she hangs off Gemma's head," Mr Taylor said.
