My wee little bungalow house, at something around 1100 square feet, has four smoke detectors. I've a fondness for candles that makes them prudent.
The kitchen one (previously linkied) is the most twitchy, but given my post-Christmas Fire of Negligence, I'd rather it were too sensitive than not enough. But it is located where I can jump and reach it without a stepstool since it goes off every few weeks when I am cooking.
I would be pleased if you did.
Hi sweetie...
Vacation highlights: Buying my nephew a play shopping cart and filling it up with toys and letting him zooooom all over the mall.
Getting separated from my SIL and nephew at the mall and then hearing the baby holler in a singsong wee voice, "Allysooooon....where are yooooouuuuu?" in Macy's.

Heh. That's a good image.
The GA clip show was weird.
Oh, thank goodness it was a clip show. I leaned back on my couch at 5pm and had an unplanned 6 hour nap today. Glad to see I missed nothing new.
I'm now faced with the dilemma of being hungry, having no appetizing food in the house, and not being in the mood for microwave burritos from the 24-hour convenience store.
Terry Kinney from OZ, Aurelia? Cause I like McManus...hell, I am a total windmill tilting McManus. Except for I've never been laid during a hostage situation.
Yep. But I haven't seen Oz, so I don't know anything about that character. He's directing the show I'm working on.
My smoke detector goes off if I take a hot shower.
Mine too. I really need to move it to a less steamy position and put another battery in it.
There are more expensive smoke detectors that can be easily turned off by pushing a large "panic button" with the end of a broom handle. I'd rather a couple false alarms than a real fire that goes unattended.
(Four smoke alarms for a four-room place is not overkill. Smoke travels along the ceiling, so if you've got door frames between the alarms and the fire -- let alone closed doors -- it may take a while for an alarm to sound -- precious minutes where a small fire could be beaten down or the fire department could be called, et cetera.)
Ah, my first post on fire alarm safety of the year! My roommate's mother died in a house fire, and if she'd only had working safety alarms it might not have been that way.
::reminds self to go around and test all the alarms when the roommate isn't sleeping::
timelies.
I have packed my lunch for tomorrow and gotten a week's worth of vitamins ready to take to work.
Sue, this is weird because I put all my vitamins in one of those day of the week/time of day pill cases last night and I'm going to try to start taking them again every day so I can maybe get some energy. I'm also going to try to exercise a bit every day and see if that energizes me.

Yeah, after what happened to my friend Ben's family this year, I really ought to check out my own detectors. I know I haven't replaced the batteries since I moved in.
