Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Vortex, I keep hitting up against secretaries/assistant walls these days too. I think they make me bristle on principle, because just getting to voice mail doesn't highlight the power differential so much.

And they don't add to the experience for me--I always ask if there's a better time to call, and the answer is always no. So it's just reminding me that if I were more important I might get something other than voice mail. But I'm not.

Your example is even terser. Just makes it sound like his time is so special.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

You're being paid by the hour, right, Jesse? And on vacation next week? It's all good.

It's true. It is all good.

In 1903, W.L. Dawson wrote "Without question the most deplorable event in the history of American ornithology was the introduction of the English Sparrow."

Oh yeah, I just realized the reason it isn't all good: I don't feeeel like working now! I want to screw around and sleep all day tomorrow and NOT WORK. Ah well. paid by the hour, paid by the hour, paid by the hour

My lord. A Famima has opened in Westwood opposite a Bristol Farms. That's way too much swish grocery near me.

I can't wait to go look.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

In 1903, W.L. Dawson wrote "Without question the most deplorable event in the history of American ornithology was the introduction of the English Sparrow."

Yes, but what would we have done without all those coconuts?

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

the most deplorable event in the history of American ornithology

I love that there's a ranking for this.
