I've really got to learn to just do the damage and get out of town. It's the 'stay and gloat' that gets me every time.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

You know what's annoying? A friend I haven't seen in forever asks what I'm doing Friday, then says she was thinking about meeting for drinks at 11. ELEVEN! On a Friday? I'll be asleep by then! Friday is for after-work plans, not late night plans!

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

There are rules to such things! It's a wonder to me.

I make no plans for 11, cause I'm an old talbots-wearing person now.

I'm pretty sure this friend isn't working, hence the ability to stay out til all hours. But really. It's 11 AM and I'm ready for bed!

I'm even wearing Talbot's right now, come to think of it.

"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

I'd rather plans at 11 on Friday than Saturday, because I'd rather sleep late on a Saturday than a Sunday.

This is not to say that 11 any day is a good time to plan to meet.

Swouncing

ELEVEN! On a Friday?

It took me up to this part of the post to realize you're talking about 11pm, not 11am. Because for us, Friday is the first day of the weekend, so meeting for brunch or something on 11am is a perfect timing. It's even more complicated than timezones.

You're ready for bed at 11 AM?

But really. It's 11 AM and I'm ready for bed!

Disco Nap!

ETA: I didn't even notice the am.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

I'm still in bed, though I have to change that soon.

No Talbots though.

OOH, outfit idea for ita-- a head to toe preppy soccer mom look. (not that that's what Talbot's is-- it just got me thinking).

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

I don't know - my friend C and I will sometimes get together around that time on a Friday because that way we allow ourselves plenty of lie-around-on-couch-and-veg time after work and still get to go out. But more often we'll start right in at six, or as early as I can get home and get the dog out and hit the barstool.

I just can't get back out of the house after working and then going home. That's my real problem.
