Death is your art. You make it with your hands day after day. That final gasp, that look of peace. And part of you is desperate to know: What's it like? Where does it lead you? And now you see, that's the secret. Not the punch you didn't throw or the kicks you didn't land. She really wanted it. Every Slayer has a death wish. Even you.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

I really really really need to start christmas shopping. I really really really don't want to. No magic in my heart.

I did that today! Of course I only bought presents for people I wanted to, and absolutely none for the people I need to buy presents for (ie family).

I'm just in a curmudgeonly mood when it comes to christmas. I think brought on partly by knowing it is going to be a stuff heavy one courtesy of the in laws. It makes it feel perfunctory, not fun. I need to get over it. And get some ideas.

We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

Best Thai food I've had is Amarind, in Chicago (across the street from Oak Park)--the chef there had trained at Arun's downtown (highest rated Thai restaurant in the country) for nine years, and now cooks meals that cost under $10 per plate, instead of $80. Best mung bean custard I've ever had!

Me too, sarameg, except for the stuff heavy part. That's why I spent today buying things for people I wanted to give presents, rather than people I have to exchange gifts with. It made me feel much better.

I think I may have to do that. I just wish I was crafty, but sadly, I'm not. I just have to come up with a good concept. One year, I just got everyone unique kaleidescopes, and enclosed a letter with each. That was fun.
