I stayed home from work today after a rough night with the stomach bug. The good news that I am actually hungry today, even though I am not 100%. Somehow the bean burritos I am craving probably aren't a wise choice.
Happy Birthday Shrift!

Ah yes, Happy Birthday Shrift!
I'll second Trudy's one free smack, so if you are later getting shoved in to the backseat of a black-and-white crown victoria on charges of assault you'll have the comfort of knowing that at least two people are sitting back and thinking, "hey they should let her have that smack for free".
Fuck, I haven't been sharpening my sword. I don't even have a sword.
I have plenty, but the stupid referees won't let me sharpen them.
Trudy, just think Harry Potter. It's not complicated, really. You'll get the hang of Other Countries any time now.
I really am kidding about these things you know.
(Except the Gerrys, that was real -- they aren't actually a threat anymore)
people sometimes got care packages when I was at University!
They were big for finals weeks at my schools. Little buckets with granola bars, candy bars, cookies, crackers, etc. They were nice to get.
My mom still sends me care packages. I think she feels sorry for me because I don't live near a Trader Joe's.
Timelies all!
Happy Birthday shrift!
Yay, my cold is gone! No more snot monster in my head...
My current care packages are coffee, tamarind balls, and souvenirs. Often also whole nutmegs, patties, coco bread, tinned ackee and rums.
I brought my parents a care package from Egypt - I carried a large cake box of Egyptian pastries all the way from Cairo, including a foray to Picadilly Circus via the tube, to Waterstones Picadilly and Yo Sushi. And I also brought them a box of fresh dates stuffed with almonds and coated in EXCELLENT milk chocolate.
Best. Chocolates. Ever.
Crap, I think I've lost a gift card I got for Xmas. I was sure it was in my wallet, but it's not there now.
