Uncropped Dobies are the cutest dogs EVAH. I love unclipped dogs. ALL of em. They are far cuter.
The last time we were at the animal rescue, there was an itty bitty baby rednose pit bull. I tried to put him in my bag.

I am bored witless. Are stores normally open New Year's Day? I think a gentle bout of book shopping should fix what ails me.
I think stores are open, ita.
I feel sorry for that poor pit bull. But dog-reactive is a no-no for me. When the time comes, I'll probably be looking for a shepherd mix of some sort.
I did some yard work, yay! Finally cut back my roses, but the side yard is simply covered with oxalis. I'm tempted to bring in the nuclear weapons.
I am home! This makes me happy. I love my city so much.
I got up this morning and went to get coffee and then decided to put the top down and go for a drive. Bel Air and Brentwood smell very green today.
hugs all of Los Angeles
Pet Peeve #826: When I say I live in LA and love it to death, it's kinda rude to respond, "OMIGOD WHY??? IT SUCKS SO MUCH!!!"
IJS.
Absolute Beginners is one of my favorite movies ever. Records in the fridge and VESPAS! too damn cool.
I own it on DVD! Excellent eye candy at all times.

Very rude. We love LA.
Rio! So happy for your impending dogliness. So much happy for you and the Saget. Are you back to yoga yet? Are your hips filled with sexy new cartilage? Has the Legasus been retired?
We have a rottweiller pitbull mix, and he has the sweetest disposition evar. That dog will still be wagging his tail 20 minutes after death.
I'm so glad you're adopting, Rio. A lot of people are afeared of "muscle" dogs, and I worry that they miss out on loving homes. Congrats on the new addition to your fam.
Being home reminds me how much I miss having a dog. Not that Ruby isn't lovely. She's just grumpy.
Taking my SIL and nephew out to dinner later. Woke up to a dreamy postcard-like covering of snow. My dad keeps making fun of me because I am going out to stand in it in flip flops. I like the feel of the crunch underfoot.
My parents' computer is all fucked up, and I want to fix it so bad, but I know that's a huge faux pas, like rearranging someone's furniture when they're out.
It's just SO FUCKED UP. I think it's loaded with spyware and said, "dad, I can fix this up so it runs faster" and he said, "I don't have spyware, I have a popup blocker!"
And I said, "okay, dad."
He's watching sports, my brother and the dog are asleep, and I'm SO BORED. But also content, if that makes sense.
Yay for potential Rio dog!
Boo for msbelle at work at all hours, but yay for then sleeping in!
Yay for bouncing Lily which I can finally remember to download!
I think there was more, but now I forget.
I'm SO BORED. But also content, if that makes sense.
I'm pretty sure that's what being at the family's is for, best-case-scenario.
I've been out to get groceries, and having fun with the guest, so the New Year is starting out nicely. Also the snow was easy to brush off the car, and the roads were already melted clear, while the snow is still clinging to twigs and roofs and so on, for maximum wintry wonderlandness.

I don't know. I always fix my sister's computer when I go home. Computers are such a mystery to her that she never notices the difference.
Hivemind question: My aunt had a stroke and she's having trouble holding a book. Since being stuck in a nursing home without being able to read is my idea of the lowest levels of hell, I'm trying to find a solution. She does sit up most of the day and has an adjustable table. I saw this [link] at Levenger's, but I was wondering if anyone had any actual experience with a book stand for reading.
eta: She's left-handed and the stroke affected her left side, so it needs to be something she can easily use with one hand.
