What is even happening?

That line is poison.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Jesse, I LOVE that line. Enough that I have to say it out loud every time I hear the song.

My sister just pointed out to me that Dhani Jones was on People's hottest bachelor list for 2005. I don't think I'd known that. Man, he used to be some guy (admittedly some pretty guy I took pictures of) who played ball for U of M and had us round every now and again.

That should do me for, oh, another year.

Well, 2005 is taken care of. Ring the new one in.

I just had a nap I wasn't expecting. I can't decide if I haul my ass out and go see King Kong or not.

Juliana -- adventure. It'll be cool. You have hella great people on your side.

information libertarian

Reasons I love having a kid: she walks up and says "What are you doing, sweetheart mommy?"

What I am doing is geting ready for bed. Evem the suspense of 'will Dick Clark be real or a DickClarkBot?' cannot keep me up til midnight.

oh joy! Oh Rapture ! I have a brain!

Julianna - welcome to your new home area. It is very strange and odd when you start thinking this place will be my new home, but I am guessing you will enjoy it. Acc'ding to my mom - who was a navy wife, it takes about a year for a new town to become home. So revel in the strangeness with the comfort of your cat and friends.

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

Welcome to the area, Juliana. When do you move into your new place?

I'm watching the extended edition of FOTR and making cock-a-leekie soup. And trying to ignore the longing gaze of a rather drooly Saint Bernard.

Wishing you well, juliana. It's got to be disconcerting, but you stepped into open arms. They'll help balance until you can find you own.

Well, 2005 is taken care of. Ring the new one in.

Clock restarts with each occurence, so I've got a good 12 months. Man, I'm a cranky bitch today.

The friend who is leaving just decided that she needed a fresh start (she was laid off last year and has been doing freelance for a bit.) So she researched various places, and decided on Holiday, Florida. She figures she'll temp to bring in a little extra and then see about seriously getting a job in her field, though really? She'd just like to retire and have an endless stream of money to pursue whatever she wants. Which, really...who doesn't? But it was a nice conversation. In some ways, we're a lot alike when it comes to work and careers and the fact that our biggest problem is that we're both interested in too much, and that ends up being a big barrier to any sort of movement. Can't pick a direction. So, anyway. She picked one. And mocks me, rightly.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

but you stepped into open arms. They'll help balance until you can find you own.

I don't know about Juliana, but this made me say awww.

OK, so I'm listening to this cd mom gave me. Winterpills. Now, she got it because she heard a few tracks and they were beautiful. Sorta Simon & Garfunkly with a little more drums and a female vocalist. But I REALLY REALLY didn't think she listened to the lyrics. They are so so melancholy and dysfunctional hearts and the kicker? Pills for Sara about an addict.

It's beautiful stuff, but doubt mom caught the undercurrents.

I've got to tease her about it.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

Did we know there was a leap second a few hours back?

I did!

I'm now onto Emmy Lou Harris. CHEERFUL!
