Lorne: Once the word spreads you beat up an innocent old man, well, the truly terrible will think twice before going toe-to-toe with our Avenging Angel. Spike: Yes. The geriatric community will be soiling their nappies when they hear you're on the case. Bravo.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I just snagged the MP3 of Ultimate Showdown. Definitely goes on my upbeat playlist.

You know, if I had an Emergency Warning broadcast, I wouldn't know unless they e-mailed me. Did you see it on TV or hear it on the radio, Consuela?

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

b) Why were people confused when Julia Roberts married Lyle Lovett? Makes perfect sense to me. I'm craxy over him.

I was confused because her having that much taste seemed weird.

And then I was confused because people were confused for other reasons. Lyle Lovett is lovely.

I hope it turns out to be nothing, Consuela.

I guess that's a problem with people timeshifting their TV and radio -- there's less of a way to get through to them Right Away. OTOH, last time I was made aware of an alert, someone called one of the people I was out with, and then two of us used our phones to get on the web and look up the story as it was breaking.

They're telling people to get out of low-lying areas along the river in Sonoma County.

And we just got a NWS Severe Thunder Storm warning for eastern Alameda County. Huh. It's not even raining right now.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

What Plei said.

It's been raining here since last night, Consuela, sometimes really hard, and I lost power sometime between 5:00 and 7:00 this morning.

It could have chosen a better weekend for this weather. I have 200+ lbs of dog in my house, and they're a little ripe. And a leaky sink. Pffft.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

I was confused because her having that much taste seemed weird.

Yeah, I couldn't figure out what he must have been thinking.

I think I'm ringing in the new year with cat barf.

Hey, I have dog barf! I think I'm taking myself out for coffee before I break out the carpet cleaner.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Huh. Just got my first Emergency Warning broadcast, for flooding along the Russian River.

Ooh, that's scary. Good luck, NoCal!!!

OK, dishes are done. A couple of thank-you notes have been written. Coats have been hung up. Things are coming together.
