Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

Aurelia, they're darling.

O'Donnell and Radner?

it occurs to me that my mom and dad are kristen's target audience for her ideal show.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Timelies!

I spent too much time watching Discovery Health Channel last night, when all it taught me is that a) Drugs are bad; b) Untreated diabetes is bad; c) Drunk driving (a subset of point a) is bad... you get the idea. At least instead of the usual "just say no" platitudes, they had concrete examples without much sermonizing... but I was hoping for medical mysteries that I didn't know, you know?

On the other hand: holiday weekend. Which doesn't suck.

"Fuck Western ideologically-motivated gender identification!" Sulu gasped, and came.

Woohoo! Serenity got voted Film of the Year in Britain!

(rabid fanbase. sounds so negative. on the other hand, maybe they just mean foamy?)

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Cute kitties, aurelia!

I can't stop playing with that sand thing.

Also, it's snowing out! Crazy that it was 60 here a couple of days ago.

I have got to clean my apartment today. Like, for real. I'm still not totally unpacked from Christmas.

Maybe there's a thermal bra? Will go google.

MEC used to sell a fleece jogging bra called the Brrrra, but they don't seem to carry it anymore.

Now tagless for your comfort.

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

A fleece bra is Brilliant. Everyone else in the house is still asleep. It's deliciously quiet right now (being "on" all the time is exhausting. I choose sleep!) and I have a popover tin in the oven heating and popover batter resting.

I should get out some books and do something quietly, but honestly, I just want to sit and enjoy my queit.

Here it is:

I think I'd have to wear another bra under that. But it would be warm.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Kitties!

Probably be a quiet day here, just hanging around the house until we head down to Alexandria for First Night celebrations.
