I'm impressed, sarameg.
I went to a Christmas Eve party last weekend where I found a four-year-old manning the ice bucket on the back patio, where the liquor had been laid out. This was Phoenix, but it was evening, so it had gotten fairly chilly (and dark) outside and everyone else was inside. She was offering everyone who wandered back there ice cubes, whether needed or not. My brother had gone back there and offered her some fudge but she replied "do you want some ice?" and dropped some cubes into his cup instead. She refused to get a jacket because "I need to watch the ice!" She also would not bring the ice bucket inside because "I need to watch the ice!" but repeatedly suggested that me or my companion should go inside and yell at everyone to come outside to get some ice.
I about peed myself I was laughing so hard.
Was your brother even born when the first movies came out (considering your nephew wasn't born when Phantom Menace came out)? Lucas has to be a bit pleased that he's permeated the popular culture so.
I'm late wishing happy birthday to quester and now to Emily. Happy Pappy Bappy!
Happy birthday, Emily!
I am bored. Someone do something entertaining.
You do look awfully fancy, Emily.
In a very deep voice (for a three year old) he intones I AM YOUR FADDUR! and then flings the glove off and starts screaming and flailing.
That's the funniest thing I've heard all day!
It was quite the dramatic interpretation of that scene.
My brother was born the year after the first film came out. We grew up playing star wars and I actually did see the first in a theater. It must have been on a re-release because I don't think my dad would take a 2 year old me to a movie theater.
I haven't seen any of the recent ones, and I probably haven't seen the original trilogy since I was 10ish.
bon, that's hilarious.
But on the upside, the Buffistas get to vicariously car shop with you.
Always look on the bright side of life! wheewoo wheewoo wheewoowheewoowheewooo
This is the new toy BigBoss got us for the kitchen. Not bad. [link]
Happy Birthday, Emily!
I may not be coming to work tomorrow--yay!
Because my car is making scary noises, so I need to go to the shop instead--rather less yay.
But all the powers that be are being really reasonable about me not showing up tomorrow--yay!
ETA: Pretty design on that, brenda!
