I swear I forgot what definition someone gave BFF. But it sounds nice nonetheless, msbelle.
I came home to find my ex-landlord has put a For Rent sign out across the street. He said he wanted out of the landlord biz. And kinda pressured me to give notice, which is why I moved. Otherwise I'd still be living there. I guess a year and a half of shouldering the mortgage payment with no renters changed his mind. Anyway, I've swung into gear getting the word out to friends in the hope I can get some cool neighbors. Too bad juliana already has her joint hooked up.
This is an early Victorian (no gingerbread on the outside, but hardwood floors and ceiling medallions inside) 2 bedroom (with 2 other rooms that could be made to serve as bedrooms) one-story with a big yard and off-street parking about 7 blocks from Ashby BART. Great for entertaining.
Best Friend Forevah...I don't really have any anymore.
Oh yeah. I don't have one either. Except for my ex-boyfriend and...that's kinda complicated.
I've had recent falling-outs with both of mine...
I'm sorry to hear that, erika.
Happy Hollidays Y'all! I missed a bunch, birthdays and engagements. Congratulations everybody!
I'm trying to figure out what to buy with my iTunes gift card. I bought a season of Monk that was a lifesaver on the drive home. (I didn't really get to watch, but I could listen and glance over once in a while).
So, Christmas...I got off work early (boss played a funny little joke where she pretended she was going to go home early since it was her birthday, and while we were all sitting there stunned was all, "I hate to cut out on y'all and leave you here...so you wanna go too?") Hung out with my sister and some of my friends at the pub where everyone goes when they go home (Ivan says Christmas is his second biggest day of the year...of course he had to be closed, but anyway). Got furry scarf and gloves from Linz and an awesome percolator from Christi, and probably my favorite present, Kelly asked me to be the godmother of her son Alex on Christmas Day (plus I got to give her the layette I knitted which got a bunch of "YOU KNIT!?!" and "YOU KNITTED THAT!?!") They'll be moving to Alabama next week which makes me sad, but I'll have to keep in touch to make sure he's being raised right.
Christmas eve was family time. Dinner with Mom's family is always tense, but then they leave, and it's just my parents and my sister (We missed Lee terribly, and called her a few times since she had the night off from the play). Much fun and family jokes- for instance I will be calling my sister for quite sometime and yelling "CHEESEBALL!" and hanging up. Mom gave me yarn and a knitting kit, which was probably a little under my skill level, but comes with these project cards which are soooo much more handy than lugging a book around or having to copy just the pages I want. Unfortunately halfway through opening presents I got terribly ill. I won't say it was my mother's cooking, since no one else got sick. However, when I showed up Friday night she was reading a recipe for burbon pecan pie, and every other step she would say, "I'm not doing that!"
Christmas morning I got up and went to the christening, or as my sister called it the Christianing. So yep, I'm a godmother, and my godson is the perfectest cutest 3 month old on the planet. I have a shiny picture on my desk to prove it.
Went out with more friends that night. Unfortunately, Ivan's can't be open because only bars on the riverfront are allowed to open on Sundays. Still, I met one friend's fiance, got to talk to another's girlfriend, and saw my friend who moved to New York and so is rarely in town. Plus hung out with FE most of the day.
Got back home to cards and newsletters from friends I haven't heard from in forever, so that was yay, and then back to work yesterday.
There's more but I've blah blahed enough. Mostly I wanted to say YAY GODSON!
Should I add some godly humour to cheer up the sudden angstfest?
Daisy Jane, you have had the best Christmas ever in the history of now.
