I caught her on a park bench, making out with a *chaos* demon! Have you ever seen a chaos demon? They're all slime and antlers.

I wish I could just go somewhere to get flensed but none of the whaling ships near me take Medicare.

Oh phew phew phew. The customer callback was much easier and more pleasant than I'd anticipated.

The mailbag brought my Serenity DVD today. I'm doing my part for the cause, too. My friend (who makes 2x what I do) asked to borrow my Serenity DVD for his household. So I bought the household one for a Xmas gift cause I knew they'd be too cheap to pony up.

The day has been pretty good, minus RSI pain. I'll be seeing the CMT in an hour so even that should feel better soon. And if it doesn't, I'll drown my sorrows in Bacardi Apple rum and new DVDs.

bon bon - I agree with most of the advice you're received. If you don't want to invest in a humidifier, cheap ways of obtaining similar effects are to leave the teapot on the boil for an extra long time so it steams the room (although with the cost of natural gas this winter, that will add up quick). It also helps to leave open containers of water around as it will evaporate into the air and even things out. In the winter I tend to leave my bath water in the tub for a while because it simulatenously heats the house a little (who wants to throw all that warmth down the drain?) and humidifies.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Congrats CV!

Well, I managed to survive 3 days with my folks, including the big family get-together.(Let's just say that seeing my 3 1/2 year-old nephew jumping around, screaming and getting into everything is not making me sanguine on the prospect of having kids. Last nerve. Frayed.) Getting to see Laura and her DH helped some.

G and I exchanged Hannukkah gifts tonight. He got me two books, one of which is Lost in the Grooves.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Hmph. I got ten bucks off from Victoria's Secret for my birthday (from them), but it only works in the store. The store is scary!!

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I love how seamlessly they blend fiction, fact, and toys.

Also, congrats to lori for making Wired! Getting your stuff to Mars is one thing, but this is the big time.

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

I was really kinda hoping for the Buffybot, but the Lori's mechanical arm-bot as the official third coolest bot of all time? Really amazingly cool.

Though I still think the Buffybot should have been on that list somewhere. She's way cooler than R2D2. Also, the Iron Giant should have been higher on the list. Not just because he makes me cry like a baby, which is really no great challenge, but because he makes Miracleman cry like a baby, and the bot that can do that is a mighty bot indeed.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

OK, that praying Calvin might be the wrongest thing I've EVER SEEN IN MY LIFE.

Uch. So glad I haven't seen these. I don't know where JZ is seeing them, but maybe I'm just instinctively looking away as they approach. Who the fuck would think Calvin is a penitent Christian?

Let me say this about that: he is not.

People should keep their spinal fluid where it belongs as Jesse recommends.

Back from bowling and cleaning out Bandai's sale-priced-to-go Teen Titans figures for Emmett. I am weary.

I have to work tomorrow. Jessica's assessment of the work-it-sucks thing seems eerily prescient. However, I'm taking Friday off. And I have next Monday off. So. Two day work week. I can make that work for me.

Wait, is this real-world child support, where the money goes to buy food for the kids, or MRA fantasyland child support where the women just buy Ferraris and cocaine? -Jessica

I got totally dissed at Polgara's xmas party, TWICE.

When she introduced me to coworkers and they asked where I worked, they would got all wide-eyed and start to ask about the damned rovers. And Polgara would step in and say, "oh, no, she's not my Rover friend."

And then NO ONE CARED.
