Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Hee!

I'm right to think that trying to get into Manhattan during rush hour is a really bad idea, so I shouldn't stress about getting up and at em in the morning, right? I'm not at all packed.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

OMG! John Ritter is on NewsRadio. I'd forgotten about that.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Whenever. I figure I'll call for the car at like 9:30.

oh joy! Oh Rapture ! I have a brain!

Matt the Bruins fan: Or, if you want to give back some of what you've been getting and drive the family's average blood pressure up over 300, there's always the opting to travel cross-country for an indecent proprosal from a gay redneck rather than attend the family Christmas. I think it wouldn't be too difficult to find a volunteer.

If this poll is to believed, 52% of the public in NY support the strikers compared to 40% supporting management. Given that reporting has been overwhelming hostile to the Union, that is an interesting number. I'd be curious to know if it has made the NY Times.

I think there's a huge difference between supporting the workers and supporting the union, in terms of public opinion. Honestly, it's like Iraq -- people support the troops who are caught in the bullshit without supporting the leadership. And given a choice between "union" and "management"? That's a tough call -- NYC is still a union town.

What I mean to say is that it seems to me like people are more hostile toward Roger Toussaint than to "the union."

Also, note in that poll that the number within the 5 boroughs is even higher -- 58%.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

I think the MTA has pissed off a lot of people with the cooked books and the un-needed fare hike and the whole West Side Stadium debacle and that gave the union a leg-up in the good will department.

I don't know how many more twenty degree days that will last, however.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I am in a daftish mood.

msbelle, by contiguous halves I wanted to know if you were wrapping it in one piece of Christian paper and one piece of Jewish. Or, as would be possible, five pieces of christmas paper alternating with five pieces of chanukah paper.

Yeah, still daftish. I want my IQ back, dammit.

I've now earned $14.94 from Google ads. Honestly, if this keeps up, I could use that money to pay for a dedicated server for provocateuse. Huh.
