Do people at your job gift and card each other?
In an office of ~15, we did Secret Santas (I got coffee and Ghirardelli chocolate!), but I've also gotten 4 cards (one of them *mailed* to my home -- WTF?) from co-workers.
One of those cards had -- I swear to you -- "Happy Holidays" crossed out and "Merry Christmas" written in. Dude, if the phrase is *that* important to you, just BUY cards that say "Merry Christmas" in the first place! (But I didn't snark at him, because he also gave out homemade cookies with the cards, and -- yum.)
I gave nothing, other than my Secret Santa gift. But nobody at work expects anything from me. If I'm *not* surly, they consider that a gift.
I thought we had already narrowed the seasons down to Mallomars and Not Mallomars?
Seriously.
So, I just watched the Brokeback Mountain special thing off Logo, and now I'm all sad and heart-breaky again. Worse than when I watched the movie! Man.
I thought we had already narrowed the seasons down to Mallomars and Not Mallomars?
Whereas *we* have food year-round....
t /still vaguely embarassed about that, but mostly amused

HEY! I should try that!
We also had an all staff luncheon where they showed pictures of us from our 20s and 30s. I stupidly caved to peer pressure (new girl wants to get along) and turned in a pic I love, the one of me doing an arabesque on a petrified log. I had to leave the room because the whole thing made me uncomfortable. In fact, I went to the library and read slash instead.
REally, Jesse?
I can't see the logo thing. Only can hear it. I loved the movie tons though.
so I think I can retain coolness superiority for a while yet.
Oh, see, you totally can. It's not about even having technological superiority, it is about having something new and fun to play with. My phone, and now iPod, have been nephlet toys forever. They're not cool so much as they are different. He's been immersed in my contact list for hours at times.
Well, last semester it was all bitching about dante. This semester, I'm moving on to Cervantes.
But I still was going to have questions about Dante. Does this mean I have to change my reading list?
did not know about this logo special. I don't think I am ready to watch a special about the movie. Especially since I am going to TX in a few days and am bound to run into half a dozen Ennis talkers and....well
I will have to fight off strong urges to go hug them tightly, poor country mumblers
.
It was totally standard, "Making this movie was so awesome, the actors are awesome, Ang Lee is awesome, blah blah blah" stuff, but it just Got Me Thinking. Poor noodles.
Ennis talkers totally
deserve a hug!
Cass you wanna ask about Dante? Ask away. your reading list can stay the same, but happily mine is changing.
