The craigslist idea is a good one. Also, going away from the city at an odd time? You might be fine with calling a car. The off-hour thing is what I'm banking on to get to the bus on Thursday.
The PATH was incredibly easy to use and relatively uncrowded-- I don't understand why everyone who lives downtown wasn't using it.
It's confusing. Also? Tainted with Jersey.

Ugh. I didn't see any encouraging news on the strike front either. Although you would have more detailed news I'm sure.
My one Uncle is in management. When I spoke to him today and told him how I'd gotten to work and said "that's what I'll do again tomorrow" he didn't make any "oh, that probably won't be necessary" noises. So if there's any movement he doesn't know about it (and he would -- he got out of it this time but he's been at the table in the past.)
To get home I walked about twenty blocks, took a cab 40 blocks (both with an exceptionally annoying co-worker), and then hitched a ride with some friendly looking guys in a truck for the last ten. Hitching is fun, warm, and free.
