I love gift certificates if they are to a place I enjoy. Money I have to spend on myself--yahoo! I give my nieces and nephews Amazon gift cards. I've done so for the last five years and they seem to LOVE them. I remember being a kid and wanting to pick out my own music and not having enough money to do so and I assume it's the same with them.
