Spike: Lots of fuss over one girl. Other things to do around here--important things. Angel: You know that whoosh thing you do when you're suddenly not there anymore? I love that.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

We have a stove! And it works.

Yay Nilly!

I love that there is a transit beat reporter. His show is my favorite on NY1.

I always forget to watch it, but I might be programming it into my DVR now.

At least I don't have to be anywhere today, but man oh man! I'm seriously contemplating getting on a bus to Boston Wednesday night after my final, to reduce my number of trips back and forth to Manhattan. Also to get there ASAP, as my grandmother is in the hospital, and it doesn't sound good.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Great. I'm in trouble with my webhosting support because my code or my popularity (provocateuse, natch) is overloading apache.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

So I've had the check-in call and have been on-line via 3 methods for 3 hours. Not one work thing has come through. It is gonna be a slow day.

ITMT, I am catching up on nip/tuck and wow do they bring the ew.

I need to be careful that I do not just sit here and waste the day. It is a prime opportunity to get things done around the house.

That sucks. (to ita.)

Today is the floor's holiday party, for which I didn't bring anything and didn't rsvp. Except, it takes over the floor. Someone is making a crockpot full of velveeta and canned beef chili right outside my door. I'm a strange combination of repulsed and really really hungry.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Nobody's in the office today except for my department. We are GIANT DORKS.

Holy shit, that sounds awesome. I love Velveeta.

Ugh, ita. You're a victim of your own success!

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Bah. There is construction at the Red Line station in Evanston (new condo going up across the street). So the bus I was in got stuck against a flatbed semi that was unloading construction supplies. The truck pulled forward and I could feel the bus shake as the two scraped against each other. It looked like the bus would stay there for a while while everyone filled out paperwork, so I walked to work from the station instead.

On the bright side, I got my xmas bonus today.

I think the canned chili bothers me most. One, I'm not a fan of the whole beans/ground beef/tomato chili thing. Two, canned? It smells like dog food when it is first opened. A common problem with canned beef in anything.

I'm out of vacation days, but I do have a personal day left to use up. If the strike lasts more than two days, I'm totally giving myself a 6-day weekend. (We're already off next week M-W.)
