JFK, bon bon.
DJ, I'm sorry that things are conspiring to make it difficult for you to not make it to the memorial.

This is also the first time I won't make it in time for the memorial/birthday celebration for Alex which is going to make me wicked depressed on Thursday.
I'm so sorry, Daisy. That's rough.
Aww, DJ, I'm sorry you won't make it to Alex's memorial. How long has it been? It's weird, because it seems like it was only yesterday, but also like it was a long time ago.
I think of him from time to time.
that was one celebrity death that hit me hard. I couldn't bring myself to watch the show again after that.
We watched, in syndication. There were good moments, but he really was the heart of the ensemble.
More random drive-by:
It's slipping past bedtime here and operation Find Blankie has not yet achieved mission objectives.
E's security object was Tiny Superman, a figurine about 2.5 inches tall - very portable, but impossible to find at 2am. I remember trying to substitue Giant Superman (a stuffed object taller than the baby) with mixed success.
I am not thinking about tomorrow's commute. It is too late to think about things like that. However, since I worked about 1 hour today and spent the other 7 getting those last-minute guaranteed-delivery orders in, I will need to be enthusiastic and gung-ho tomorrow. Maybe the company bus will have camaraderie.
Woot! Guess who managed to save the day by hauling ass to Memphis after discovering a co-worker forgot the ultra-crucial outgoing Fed Ex package just after it was too late to turn it in locally? If the men's room toilet backs up again tomorrow, I believe it will be said co-worker's job to swab it up rather than mine.
I love how the union's commercials (oh yeah, they're airing commercials) mention that MTA 1. spent its surplus and 2. is considering a fare hike. Good tactic to get New Yorkers to support a *new* massive expense, TWU!
I think NY1 is excited. If there's someone who will benefit from this, it's them.

Definitely. The commentary is just off without him.

DH and I were just saying, tonight's probably the highest rating's they'll get all year.

Three years on 12/13. Also the day Objects in Space aired.
I'm not sure what if anything I'll do. I need to pack for home, which means I also need to wash stuff from this past weekend. And I work late the rest of this week. Thursday until 8:00. Maybe if I get stuff done Wed. Jon and I can take a nice walk around the block or something. Actually they may have some of the sparkling juice up at Whole foods, so we can do a toast or something. We're not allowed fireworks this close in the city which would be most appropriate.
The union is lousy at public relations, but they have a point. The MTA had a billion dollar plus surplus which they rushed to commit so as not to have it on the table during negotiations. Fighting against cutbacks is not unreasonable.
I know you think the union should have accepted binding arbitration. I would be curious to know how the arbitrators would have been chosen and who they would have been.
