I wish I could just go somewhere to get flensed but none of the whaling ships near me take Medicare.

ita, I'm so sorry you're going through all that. I really hope it all gets better quick-like.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

People are acting weird around me.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Sorry to hear about the ongoing crappiness of the health issues, ita and Tommy.

I got a radio treat on the drive home tonight - instead of the usual bathroom break "Stairway to Heaven" or Deep Purple selections, the disc jockey played Electric Light Orchestra'sSweet's "Love Is like Oxygen." Of course it's largely the one chorus repeated again and again, so I'll be earwormed for days. (At least it's with a song I love and never get to hear...)

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

What everyone else said, ita and Tommy. You both deserve much different..

What is even happening?

tommy, I'm glad you have a diagnosis. I wish it were a more easily addressed one, though.

ita, words fail. As always, I hope there's a solution for you, soon.

JZ, strength (and maybe a little Christmas miracle) to your brother and family.

I came here because of the John Spencer obit. I see it's already been discussed. I gave up the show in the second season, because of a huge squick caused by the idea that they did a 9/11 inspired episode so soon after the event. I never could go back. After that, the only time I paused on the show, while exercising my remote, was if Leo McGarry was on screen. The character he played on L.A. Law was the only reason I ever watched that show, too. He's far too young to be gone.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

brenda, is that this week's Without a Trace, the one with DDK? Do you still have it on the TiVo? Our power and cable went out on CSI & WAT night, and we missed them.

Beverly, they were both already reruns, so not sure when they'll be back around again.

Woke up unnecessarily early, which does mean I have time to screw around this morning, which I guess is a good thing. I mean, I could start working on my paper, but eh. Paper time is this afternoon, not now!

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Me, I actually woke up "late", i.e. 8 AM, which made the cats very grumpity indeed. There was meowing and resentful stares, but luckily I come from flinty-hearted stock.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

I slept in late and had odd workish dreams. I am trying to get myself awake enough to shower and go buy groceries.

Our wings are not tired.

Health vibes to those that need em.

and insent ita.

I really have to work me ass off today to get my chores under control. t 1st world problem My housekeeper got sick before Thanksgiving and her school schedule is too hectic next semester so she quit. t /1st world problem So my house is a designated disaster area and next weekend I have an unknown number of people showing up for the big Chrismas dinner. Also it would be nice to have clean clothes for the work and school week ahead. And the Christmas shopping has a deadline element to it. And I think the pool has things growing in it because since the hurrican blew the screening away the leaves and such blow into it. Yuck.

So I told the family if we all pulled together and attacked rooms in teams and busted our butts today tomorrow can be all play. We can go out on the boat, go to the movies, whatever the reward they want. But today all 3 of them are my servants.

So there.

Timelies!

this is what has happened so far this morning:

- cat jumped up on the table next to me and finding no space he stabbed me in the finger
- DH has CNN on and I just heard President Bush's morning address. I think I threw up in my mouth a little

So far it is better than yesterday morning when I fell down the stairs.
