I was actually just discussing the idea of medical personal assistants with my mom last week. Not like a caregiver, more a paperwork filer, appointment maker, general schedule juggler, google-level researcher, reminder...
One of mom's friends is essentially this (among many other things) for her increasingly less competent MIL, and is looking to see if she can hire someone to take over that task, not because she (friend) can't do it, it would just make the whole thing less fraught due to familial relations.
In a moment of brilliance, when I re-upped my insurance I got a plan with a much lower out of pocket maximum. Although I'd paid my deductible pretty early on, the insurance only covers a percentage until the out-of-pocket is reached. Next year it should be like $500.
A friend has to get surgery, and he really wanted to get it done this year, because there's less of his deductible to pay. I was all "December and you're not done with your deductible? Piker."
My goal today was vaguely Doblerian.
I wanted no work to arrive by voicemail, email, office intrusion or inbox. I didn't want to do anything requested by voicemail, email, office intrusion or inbox, nor did I want to task anybody else via these communication systems. I wanted to be left alone as if I were here on the weekend.
This goal will not be possible to achieve. However, it's almost 11:00am and so far I'm still good.

Hee.

A fair amount after. The marathon marathon started after the concussion. Before that, and even before the move, I was having what I guess was a lot (a week on, a week to three weeks off). The run up to the fainting was probably just a month. I moved in April.
I was wondering if there was a magical mold solution, or something, but the timing doesn't work. Unless it's SoCal I'm allergic to.
Of course, now I'm wondering if the pain guy is supposed to be instead of the orthopedist. Oy.

Just for this, you're so getting lucky this weekend.
I am getting my medical reimbursement things togethter today to submit and I wa errorneously informed that my non-perscription sunglasses would be allowed. Now I am short what I need to use or lose. BASTARDS! Perhaps my dentist appt. next week and my $35 eye exam added with my as of yet calculated therapy co-pays will use up the rest of my contribution. I hate losing money.

A case manager.
I don't know anything about medicine, but I highly approve of pain management.
I highly approve of the pain management people TAKING ME OFF HOLD. My insurance company didn't even know what to do with the question. They'll cover every doctor I see, either 60%, 80% or 100%. So it's a dumb question.
