One of the juries I was on a couple of years ago was for a civil trial in which an ex-employee of a company was suing for his end-of-year bonus, which amounted to about 1/4 of his pay for that year. The company claimed he had become officially unemployed on Dec. 8, and that the bonuses were only paid to employees of record as of Dec 15th.
Plaintiff claimed that it was done on purpose that way to save the company $20K, and his ex-boss did a very poor job of trying to claim otherwise.
There was more to it than that, of course, but the company was in the wrong, and they knew it, and the case should never have gone to trial.
Between gifts and travel, I don't think there will be enough money to pay all the bills this month.
If things are that tight, is there any way to cancel the travel? Unless it's already paid for, or something that will help you stay sane?
Clearly the NYT Dining section this week is geared towards Citibank employees.
Travel can't be canceled, we're going to go see relatives that probably won't be around much longer.

Heh, I should have been more clear -- they're guides to affordable champagne (bottles under $30) and caviar (they recommend American farmed sturgeon).
TAR: The producers must have really
hated
the
Weavers,
because they made the final challenge that unlabeled
map
and then the challenge that sumi linked to,
they weren't going to do any better on.
Moral of the story: if you homeschool, please pay more attention to geography.
Not to mention etiquette, kindness, bigotry and so on.
Apparently that's how it works in the World of Finance? Your base salary is kind of bullshit, because the bonuses are so big?
Pretty much. Everyone who works above me, including my boss, my boss's boss, and my boss's boss's boss, has the same base salary as I do.
Next month will be okay as well. It's just I took over the finances in November with a whole bunch of overdue bills . Then we did the dogs (which I really didn't want to do right then) and that ended up costing a whole lot of money last month. Then there are the extra expenses of December with gifts and travel and property taxes. January should be much better.

But, Real Americans Fail Geography!
