Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Sweet! Is that the one where Sonny got hit on the head and lost his memory and thought he really was a drug-dealer? Oh, the angst!

Man, if I'd known about slash back then I'd totally have worn slash-colored glasses for Miami Vice.

It's not too late.

TiVo grabbed much (but not enough!) of a TV Land marathon. So I've gone from where he loses his memory (excellent episode) straight to the one where I think they wrap it up.

My god, he kills a lot of people. All baddies that I can tell, but still. Executions.

Not as gay as Starsky & Hutch, but not too hard to work.

If this is supposed to be warming me up for the movie, it's totally working.

Oh, I'm sure, Kristen. Except I'm no longer into the show: I look at it and go, Yikes, Pastels! And run away.

Besides, they never did anything interesting with their women characters.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

Oh god do I not want to click on Kristen's link.

Why?

Besides, they never did anything interesting with their women characters.

They never needed to! The show was all about the deep and abiding love between Crockett and Tubbs.

Though there was the episode with Liam Neeson. They tried to do something interesting with Sandra Santiago's character.

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

Besides, they never did anything interesting with their women characters.

You realize they were doing that on purpose to emphasize Teh Gay, right? Especially in the early seasons, when all the men were dressed in pastels, and all the women were in bland earth-tones?

Oh, no, they were not. At least the pastels are soothing to my head. The women were often electric, even early on.
