The fact that Tivo doesn't make an HD box right now has made my decision to delay getting an HD set MUCH easier.
That's me, right there.
My flatscreen monitor can do HDTV with a receiver (or whatever the thingamajig) so if it's
urgent
I suppose it could work out. But I needs mah DVR.
There's a press release on Tivo.com that says their ETA for an HD box is "early 2006."

Oh, fuck. Also, meep. And yay.
Speaking of spending money, I just placed three separate orders through Amazon--one for a magazine subscription for my 9-y.o. nephew (for "Highlights", which I always liked and was glad to find on his Xmas list), one for the books and CDs I got for the other nephew and niece, which is being sent to my mom who'll wrap and take them over to their house, and the third Mom's gift, which I'm having sent under separate packaging to her house so her husband can confiscate the packing slip, just in case the item's price ends up on it.
I never knew the logistics could be so hard to get a few presents ordered and delivered!
Now to get some earrings to complete the niece's presents, something for my sister, brother and SIL, and my new stepfather, and then a trip to my dad's favorite woodworking shop for the usual gift certificate, and then I'll be done with my shopping! A big difference from last year, when I waited to shop until 12/22 and then spent almost $100 to get the presents mailed to both coasts overnight.
I still have 6 birthday cards, 3 birthday gifts, and 10 Christmas gifts to get. Yet what I want to do is sleep. I wish I felt hungry. Food might provide some shopping energy.
I am such a loser today. All I've done is take care of the kids, two loads of laundry, and dishes.
two loads of laundry, and dishes.
I haven't even done this much.
Yeah, taking care of kids is nothing special.
I, on the other hand, have gotten quite a bit accomplished, inbetween staring dazedly at whatever.
I've made nagging phone calls, sent "Keep me in the loop" emails a million times, and am wrapping up the status meeting in which I was told I'd have to discuss the project in more detail with my boss tomorrow.
God forbid I should also do laundry and dishes.
But... but... I NEED to do more or I am slowing going to drown in housework. And Christmas will pass me by with no decorations--or gifts--to show for it.
Plus the babysitter just cancelled for this afternoon.
Phooey.
All I've done is take care of the kids, two loads of laundry, and dishes.

Oh, is
that
all?

I remember how exhausting nannying for one toddler was.
