This is not funny. This... this is a morality tale about the evils of sake.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

From IMDB:

Controversial new western Brokeback Mountain has broken 2005 box office records by scoring the highest per-screen average take for any film released. The film, featuring Jake Gyllenhaal and Heath Ledger as secret gay lovers, opened in just five cinemas in New York City, Los Angeles and San Francisco and took in an estimated three-day box office total of $544,549 - an average of $109,000 per screen. The film opens all across America on Friday. The film was named the year's Best Movie by the Los Angeles Film Critics Association on Saturday. The film's director, Ang Lee, was also named Best Director.

I'm extra glad I didn't go, and will wait patiently until it opens somewhere closer to me that will be less insane to get to. If there is a less insane as Christmas approaches.

ita, I skipped - how did your meeting yesterday end up being?

It was definitely odd, Nilly, but hopefully, pending scheduling considerations, we can mostly recover. I'm still going to look less good to my boss, but that's just something I need to make peace with. I need to be all over the follow-up today, like a pitbull on a haunch of venison.

I just need to decide if I'm up to doing that from the office today.

Dorothy is back in Oz, and this time she brought a watergun.

So a small-caps "yay"?

I'm still going to look less good to my boss, but that's just something I need to make peace with

Despite everything?

Is it some sort of "thinking only in that one single way" scenario, where nothing one can do is able to change the way another person looks at things? Because then, well, it's just like you said - the only thing left to do is making peace with it.

I just need to decide if I'm up to doing that from the office today

I guess you don't need yet another person asking you how you're doing physically, so I'm not going to ask. I just hope you won't have to make that sort of decisions again, soon.

Ann, that's a ferret.

On top, Ms. Gibson looks like she forgot to put on a top over her slip. On bottom, she looks like she's ready for a "Roaring '20s"-themed party.

My best angle is to go in and paint myself a hero, struggling through horrendous odds, and arising triumphant with the test results in one hand, and the heads of my enemies under the other arm.

The status meeting is at 1.

Will you have the heads ready by then? [Edit: I mean, you seem to have everything else under control, right?]

The heads need to start returning some phone calls. Whether this all happens from here or from the office, it'll be a lot of calling and nagging.
