OK, that's one part of the holiday that is fun: watching the animals go out of their furry little minds over various ornaments.

Hee--I just put up my tree for the first time since I got Amarna (last year's depression = no Xmas decorating last time around), and she is having fun staring at the lights and going after a wooden Christmas tree ornament that's dangling enticingly within her reach. I've put all my non-breakable ornaments within paw's reach, and I'm surprised by how few of those I have. I just hope when I come home from work tomorrow that the tree isn't laying on its side by her enthusiasm over reaching some of the higher-placed ornaments.

Kathy, coathook in the ceiling, fishing or other line to the top of the tree. Will save you much stress.

(We always had a live tree, which meant HUGE rootball that overcame launched cat.)

When I moved in, there were already two ceiling hooks that conveniently enough are placed on either side of the tree, so I'm thinking about picking up some fishing line just in case. But, the tree's base is so damn solid that it takes me quite a bit of effort to move it even a few inches, so she would have to do some serious jumping to knock it over (I hope!).

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Seriously? That would be AWESOME.

I'll hook you up. I need to make a set for Jim E-T too as a belated wedding present too. If I let JZ loose on my Mojo mags, she'll do some custom made covers for you too.

I would also enjoy the Comfort & Joy tape I have from you on CD.

I'll double check my Comfort & Joy tracklisting, but I think I put most of those traditional songs on my Winter Grace CD mix. Which I will definitely post.

I'm so amused by the mix of grinchies and christmas people here.

OH! That's something I can get the nephew. A Grinch.

David, the favorite Christmas LPs are a series put out by Goodyear in the 60s and 70s. I have 5 of them. Then there is the Merry Christmas Bing Decca album, and of course, the John Denver and the Muppets (but I think I'll just buy that whole thing on iTunes).

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

msbelle, if you find Do They Know It's Christmas, please hook a sister up.

It was a lovely day here today. This is the first December it's been totally obvious why I moved here. This probably means not enough rainfall for next summer.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Right ON.

I'm actually forcing myself to feel a little Christmassy, which is like impossible, what with the finals and bullshit. But it's good. I still probably won't put up the tree, but it's a start.

It's so weird seeing Inside The Actor's Studio after the divorce from the New School.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.
