I would be there right now.

Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe

Um. Brokeback Mountain - is it open in wide release yet? I thought it was supposed to be this weekend, and yet, I'm not seeing it in any of the theaters near me. I find that odd. Unless it's not in wide release yet.

Jen, it's not in Cincinnati, either (though that doesn't surprise me, because I think the city's motto is "Teh GAyZ R Teh EEvIL!") -- I looked on the movie's website, and it says that it's open in "limited release." I'm hoping it'll make it to more screens soon.

I think I may go see a matinee of Harry Potter (on IMAX!) instead, since I still haven't seen it yet.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

I'm on the same cranky "I wanna see the gay cowboys" train -- is this seat taken? Looks like it's limited release this weekend and "select markets" next.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Perkins, how long are you in Tucson? I'm going to be there from the 21-26 for Christmas with my mom, aunt&uncle, cousin, and grandmother. Will you still be around?

I am only here for the weekend, but I am coming back on Saturday the 24th and then leaving again on Monday.

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

Brokeback only opened in LA, NY and SF. And in LA, I only know of one theater where it is showing. That's pretty damned limited if you ask me.

Ah, thanks Steph (and Kat, and, yeah, there's always room for one more on the cranky train, amych.)

Well, damn. I hope Philly and surrounding area is one of the select markets. Grr. Just release the flippin' movie.

Guess I'll go see the Lion, Witch, etc. Not what I was planning for today, but it was on the agenda for the week.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

I think today is getting colder as the day progresses. It certainly feels colder now than when I left at 10:30.

My house is messy and parts of it dirty. I need to remedy that and then decorate for Christmas.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I totally overestimated the amount of work I would be able to get done today. I have another two hours before my group meeting, and I don't wanna work on my stupid paper any more! Wah wah wah!! At least I have four of 10-12 pages written. Not well, and not in the right places necessarily, but words on the page is a start.

Wah. I guess I'll take a walking break and get something to drink. And then work more.

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

Hiya, folks.

I got outed as a Buffista to one of my coworkers at the company party last night. Possibly that second glass of not!champagne (i.e., sparkling wine) was not a good idea. But she's a Pancakeista, apparently, and had put it together a while ago when I recognized the TT interface on her screen and she figured out I liked Buffy (which I've been pretty open about at work). She says she won't rat me out, and I tend to believe her. Still, unsettling, especially since the entire convo took place while cramped on a bus, within close proximity to the VP.

Otherwise I'm doing well--yesterday was my birthday and I spent it at a scavenger hunt and the company party, which included Beach Blanket Babylon, a long-running SF musical revue with fantastic hats, and a pretty good dinner in North Beach. While I was out, my dog ran away but my sister found him, and then came to my house and did my dishes and left me a beautiful bouquet of roses. I love my sister.

Kat, congratulations on finishing your papers!

ita, good luck on the PM stuff--it's such a pain when people don't do what they've committed to. Is it because they have other obligations for people who are more demanding than you? Or are they just blowing you off? I've found that some people really do need more frequent reminders of deadlines and stuff, although I would much rather assume that they'll do what they said by when I said I needed it. And I continue to be frustrated on your behalf by your misbehaving body. It's like it doesn't know you have things you need to do.

I suspect I missed Nilly, so I'll just t wave at Nilly.

Err. Must go finish a story before people start arriving for Buffy-watching.
