javachik, I agree. Jack has been actually really good this season, with moments of badassery, even. I think it helped that he wasn't the de facto leader anymore and, in fact, came to grips with the fact that all this time, he was really only the leader because of de facto.

Could still be Sawyer, no?
The Girl keeps pointing out that Kate was on Jacob's list (at the lighthouse), and that there was no reason why she should be crossed off the other list. And then I remind her that logic and Lost don't really mix.
I've heard discussion that the use of Gene Wilder's S.S. Wonkatina chant from Willy Wonka in one of the priviews was very deliberate. Jacob IS looking for a successor, after all, and doesn't seem overly concerned when bad things happen to the candidates.
I think sideways Locke is going to be the ultimate candidate.
Of course my mind keeps flashing to Highlander. I can't help it, but I hear Queen just about any time anyone mentions "candidate."
"I am immortal..."
I wonder what Widmore's plan is with Desmond.

I like that, but wasn't it only used in a preview?

The logic I've seen is that was deliberate in order to throw Smokey off. The cave list was a decoy.

As I said (except for spelling it "priview" by accident). I just saw some speculation in Entertainment Weekly on how deliberate it's use was. Random cultural reference, or deliberate clue?
It's been far too long since I felt interest in deconstructing a preview quite this much.
