I recall that being painfully obvious in the Faraday flashbacks when he was young, still playing piano, and Widmore came over to chat with Eloise about Daniel's future. However, i had the distinct impression that Daniel and Penny were full brother/sister, sister growing up with dad and brother growing up with mom after everyone left the island. In sideways world i guess Penny is Eloise's daughter but not Charles', what with the different last name? either that or she's married.
