"I'm useless alone." // "We're all useless alone. It's a good thing you're not alone."

So how did Claire get infected? Is Sayid infected because he came back wrong?

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Did we have reason to believe that Claire was dead before she started showing up with her and Jack's dead Dad? I don't remember exactly what happened with her.

Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe

The house she was staying in in Dharma/Other village got blown up. Sawyer got her out of there, but it's possible (in a retconny way) that she died in the explosion but then came back wrong before Sawyer even got to her to carry her out of the house.

It took a lot of work to get Sayid to come back from the dead, though. Dirty water, forced drowning, blah blah blah.

On the other hand, if it's the same "sickness" that Rousseau's crew got, it doesn't seem like you have to die to catch it.

I am the fly who dreams of the spider

I forget, how did Locke get off the island?

Nevermind: the Donkey Wheel.

I am the fly who dreams of the spider

Been marathoning Season 5. Faux!Locke, aka Smokey, aka "Esau" just made his appearance. Kinda cool knowing this now.

The ep where Locke dies. Kate is telling him no, and being an absolutely nasty bitch about it. Die, Kate.

Such a sad depressing ep. Even O'Quinn plays it as sad and pathetic.

One thing I had never wondered: does he try to kill himself because he's sad and alone, or is he hoping that Richard was right and that he had to die in order to bring everyone back, and sacrificing himself to save the rest of the losties?

Okay, alternate-timeline!Ben as a European History teacher who throws a hissy fit over the coffee grounds is the best thing this show has ever done.

And it makes me really sad that alternate-timeline!Locke has a more or less decent life -- he ended up with Helen, and in fact is marrying her, and seems to be dealing with his broken spine. Of course, this being LOST, it'll probably all go to hell, but as of right now, I'm so sad for him that he was murdered by Ben* in the "real" timeline, and probably died feeling like the biggest failure ever, but in the alternate timeline, things are good.

*Ben saying he was sorry he murdered Locke made me laugh for a full minute. I fucking love Ben.

As for the Island! Of! Mystery! shit, I am SO OVER IT. I'm really tired of the commercials that say "Questions will be answered," when, in true LOST style, they're just raising more fucking questions.

Also: REUNITE SUN AND JIN NOW DAMN IT. (When is sweeps week? I assume it'll happen then.)

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

Does that work in any potential "real world" context, or is that a definite bleed through?

I'm hoping that some of the off-island stuff will stay as is. Locke being the biggest one at this point. And Hugo - a seriously fucking happy Hugo would make me happy.

I *really* want Locke to be happy, and I just don't think the show is going to go there. And while I got used to Minear breaking my heart, I think I've gone soft, because it's going to make me really sad when the alternate timeline collapses or disappears or whatever.

I am the fly who dreams of the spider

So, little boy: Aaron? Ghost of young Jacob?

Richard being that scared really freaked me out. Businessman Hurley was so cool, especially since only just recently we saw him start to man up.

Finished rewatching season 5, and it's amazing the amount of things that are mysteriously and confidently said, when in fact the person making these omniscient statements are completely clueless and hiding their own ignorance.

Throughout this ep, I was really nervous about Sideways!Locke and Island!Sawyer. Terrified that Richard was about to die (hey, someone on the show sustains pain and debilitation from an injury for more than the duration of the blow itself, amazing!).
